When we got to our room our feet stuck to the floor because there was some kind of gunk all over it. The mirrors had a film on them and appeared as though they hadn't been cleaned in months. When we went to go to sleep we discovered that the sheets were stained and there was sand in the bed. There was so much sand we had to brush ourselves off. Also, the A/C unit barely worked and the tv remote was held together with electrical tape. Needless to say we left and stayed at another hotel. I would assume other people had similar problems because at one point there was a man outside trying to sell his room key.

It was horrible in all respects. Disgusting physical accommodations in the king kitchenette unit. No TV remote (they gave 3 different ones and a booklet to program it ourselves and it still didn' work), broken lights/no light bulbs, broken TV cabinet, clogged "bathroom sink", no luggage rack, no clock radio, inadequate air conditioning, curtains didn't fully close so the sun/street lights came in, peeling paint and plaster, elevator smelled like urine on Saturday night, arrogant and disinterested staff, we will be writing to the BBB and local Tourism Board as well as every hotel rating site we can find.

The Aztec Hotel was one of the better hotels I have been in. The rooms were a little small but they gave you everything. The people were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the shower actually worked! It was only 2 blocks from the beach. I plan on staying there next time I go down.

The Aztec is one of the nicer hotels in Seaside. The rooms are clean and spacious and the location on the boardwalk can't be beat. My biggest problem (actually, my only problem) was the staff. It's a tiny place and I saw the same 3 people working the front desk. There was a young man who was pretty helpful, and two ladies who were incredibly mean to me for my entire trip. The attitude never stopped with these ladies and I saw the obese one yelling at many other guests during my stay. One was just kind of quiet and not very helpful, but the fat one was a smart-aleck who gave everybody lots of attitude and sharp answers. I'm sure I'd be kind of bitter too if I had to deal with lots of dumb teenagers coming up to party at my motel every weekend, but her attitude was simply uncalled for and she was very unprofessional.

The Aztec is really a trade-off. It's probably the cleanest hotel in Seaside and you won't be disapointed with your room, but the staff will not help you at all, and if you approach them, you risk getting yelled at.

Part of the ceiling fell on our bed. The room smelt moldy. The staff response was slow.
