We found Avenue hotel on a bargain hotel website for a spur-of-the moment trip to Chicago. We found it to be within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile and a very good rate, so we decided to go for it. Normally we can't afford a decent hotel within the city, but I guess we got lucky. When we arrived at the Avenue hotel we loved the sophisticated but not stuffy decor and we were warmly greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from the doorman, who quickly assisted us with our luggage. Our room was very clean and well-kept. My husband thought it was a bit small, but in the city, that's to be expected. I found it to be comfortable and pleasant. I was excited to try the bed since it seemed that is what every other review mentioned and we were not disappointed at all! The best darn night of sleep ever. When staying at the Avenue Hotel you are in walking distance of some really great restaurants and shopping, no need to have a car while staying here. The hotel overall was very impressive, especially for the bargain we got it for. All in all, I would definitely stay at the Avenue Hotel when visiting Chicago, bargain or no bargain

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night and had a great experience. We live in Chicago and occasionally enjoy getting away for a night or two in a hotel downtown. I would consider the Avenue Hotel a chique boutique hotel. It was modern, and yet extremely comfortable not to mention in an excellent location that is walking distance to everything important like shopping, restaurants, bars etc. The staff was very friendly and gave us an incredible room with a view of the city. No matter how long you live here you never get tired of the skyline at night. I would definitely recommend coming here!

The staff were friendly and courteous. I found a great deal on a one-bedroom suite. For the most part, the decor and furniture were above average. In the living room, the leather sofa was comfortable. In the bathroom, the shower head and curved shower rod were nice, but the tile was poorly laid and the toilet looked industrial (like in a sports stadium). In the bedroom, the pillows were comfortable, but the waffle texture of the blanket was somewhat uncomfortable. The air conditioning units were moderately loud and the sun made the temperature slightly warm during the afternoon. The complimentary wireless Internet was easy to use and the speed was adequate. The rooftop pool was small and basic. The hotel was located just steps from the heart of North Michigan Avenue shops and attractions. It was also within walking distance of Navy Pier and Millennium Park. I would stay at this hotel again if I found another great deal.

Stayed two nights with the better half for a birthday weekend in the city, and we were very pleased with this hotel. Prior to our arrival we had already decided to request an upgrade - after all it was my birthday. When checking in they immediately upgraded us to a corner suite with amazing views. You know I had read on this site that previous guests had been upgraded without asking but I tend to be pessimistic and didn’t think it possible – well I guess I was wrong. Our room was spotless, and very well appointed. The robes were out of this world soft and the bed – I don’t think I have ever slept that good in a hotel before. The staff was always friendly and we were always greeted with a "hello" and a smile when passing in the hallway. Despite the great room and friendly staff, the main attraction of the Avenue Hotel is the location - just steps from some of Chicago's most iconic destinations. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
During my recent business trip to Chicago a colleague suggested I try the Avenue Hotel in Downtown Chicago. He had stayed there with his wife on a recent weekend getaway to Chicago and was very satisfied. Upon my arrival I was very surprised - If

Okay
When you hear luxury 4star you expect a step above, well not this case. Im not complaining just being honest. The hotel is not any better than any moderate chain. The pictures and descriptions are deceiving. You enter the "lobby" which is really...
