At the heart of the cabernet-sauvignon- merlot and chardonnay vines of Napa Valley- the French restaurateur Claude Rouas has created a discreet and elegant hotel hidden amongst a grove of olive trees that evoke his love of Provence in the South of France. A handful of houses perched on the hillside offer spacious -maisons- with private terraces where aged French oak floors- colorful chenille fabrics- abstract paintings and fireplaces create an air of romance. The Mediterranean-inspired cuisine features the very best of the region and the spa- which also draws its cue from the land- proposes treatments based on grapes- olives- herbs- flowers- mud and minerals. The 15-000 bottles in the wine cellar promise an oenophiles journey to the wine heaven as you watch the sun setting on the horizon.

Excellent
This hotel is tucked away in the hills of Napa Valley. Words cannot describe this property. It's quite pricey, but we had the most romantic weekend. Each room is secluded. Perfect for a wedding. The spa is world class.
We recently went to Auberge du Soleil for dinner while we were in Napa Valley. We began with drinks on the terrace and then went into the restaurant for dinner. The views are spectacular, the restaurant is impeccable with cleanliness. However, ...

Excellent
We had our wedding at Auberge du Soleil in May 2007 and it was not only a spectacular location and view of the valley (reminded me of France), but the service was up above any in all of my travels. From the wedding coordinator (Casey) to the wait...
38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My wife and I have stayed here before and we find it very relaxing and quiet. It is close to our home but it feels a million miles away. You can walk the grounds, go wine tasting in the beautiful Napa Valley, get a massage, work out or generally forget the rest of the world. The Auberge hotel is one of several escapes that my wife an I enjoy on a regular basis.
I am very likely
to return to the Auberge Du Soleil.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Good
Auberge du Soleil is located at the top of a country drive in between St. Helena and Calistoga. The building is peach toned and the dining area includes an outdoor patio with an expansive view of the valley and its vineyards. The deck is weathered ...

I really don't know how to review this place, since it's so fabulous. But if you have the money and opportunity to stay here, you really must. No, really. You have to come here and stay before you die, because it's that good of an experience. I shouldn't even use the word good, since it's not good enough. The views are inspiring and very lovely, I've never eaten outside so much in my life, and it's something I do all the time now, thanks to my stay here (although my view is not as lovely as it was here). They treat you even better than if you're old friends when you arrive, and that was unexpected (regardless of its very hefty price), but very nice. When I say better, I mean that they cater everything to you and your desires, including what newspaper you get in the morning. I could go on for days about how nice it is here, but it will never truly register until you arrive. I don't care what you have to do to be able to spend even one night here, it will be more than worth it. I can promise that. If I could give it a rating of 100, I would.
Auberge du Soleil is a paradise unparalleled especially for those who would like to get away from the city and unwind. It nestles on a hill overlooking a breathtaking view of vineyards and wineries in Rutherford in Napa Valley. My partner and I...

Excellent
Auberge du Soleil is everything that a Relais and Chateaux should be. The service exceeds expectations and is the best I have ever received. Definitely a must when in the Napa Valley.
