The Attwater Villa is a handsome old hotel in central Newport. The rooms are clean and the package rates are a good value in high season. We found the innkeeper, however, to be rude and somewhat abusive. I put it down to a cocaine habit or possibly Tourette's. In any event, we did not feel welcome.

Excellent
I have stayed at this B&B for the past 6 years and will again this year. It's just like being home. Sadie and Roland are the best at what they do from the great breakfast to the cleaniness and comfy cosey feeling you get just walking through the...

My wife and I just returned from a long weekend at the Attwater Villa. We had a great stay! Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by the innkeeper, who went over a detailed map of the area telling us where to go and where not to go. Having never been to the area we greatly appreciated this.
We stayed in a master suite, two large rooms a living room and a bedroom with a gorgeous four-poster king bed. Our room was immaculately cleaned and very comfortable, the mattress was great!
We walked to all sites and attractions from their location which was great. Breakfast is a continental buffet, but was quite extensive and the homemade granola is not to be missed. I even liked their coffee better than Dunkin' Donuts! When I asked where they got it they said they bought it from a company on the Cape. Also, there are individual tables in the breakfast room which is great, nothing is worse than sitting with a bunch of strangers if you are not a morning person!
Overall, we had a fantastic time at the Attwater Villa. The hosts are extremely friendly and they obviously love what they are doing as it shows tremendously. It was my wife's birthday and I had requested flowers and champagne for our arrival and sure enough there was a bottle chilled on ice waiting for us. My wife and I aren't the easiest people to please and have been to many bed and breakfasts and this one is top notch all the way! We are already planning a return visit for Jazz Fest in August. We loved the Attwater Villa for all of these reasons written here and many more. We checked in as strangers and checked out as friends. We have fond memories of our weekend in Newport and will recommend the Attwater Villa to all of our friends.
