Before I made my reservation at the hotel I called the Atrium to ask about the A/C problems I've heard about in the rooms. I was informed by a pleasant young lady that they just completed a renovation with all new A/C units in all the guest rooms.

The hotel was a disappointment from the first (of three) rooms we were provided in one night. The first room smelled of smoke, and did not have a functional heater. In the second room, the lights did not work. In spite of the appeals of the staff ...

In-room "complimentary high-speed Internet access" actually costs $9.95 per day. Business center has no free services ($3 minimum charge). I received a minor phone charge, but I never touched the phone. Neither I nor my business companion could...
48 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
The lobby and the room smelled musty. The soap was low quality. The staff definitely needs some customer service training.
Two different front desk reps seemed bothered when I interrupted their personal conversations on their cell phones, once to check in and once to check out. It took four calls to the bell desk to get my luggage brought to my room. Finally, the parking attendant brought the bags because my call had been misrouted to him twice and he took the extra step to bring the bag and offered his apologies. He was the only staff member that seemed to be focused on the customer.
I called for a shuttle to the airport and they told me to call 10 minutes before I wanted to leave. I checked out a few minutes early and asked for the shuttle. They said the driver was at the airport and would be back shortly. The shuttle arrived about ten minutes later. I approached the driver and asked to be transported to the airport. He said it would be about 10 minutes and walked away. He came back around 15-20 minutes later and drove me. And he seemed a little put out that he had to take me.
Needless to say, I will not be staying here again and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent
The Atrium was a fine hotel close to the airport at Orange County. The facilities were more like a resort than a standard hotel. The employees were knowledgeable and courteous so I would recommend it to everyone.
