The Hotel Arcadia is housed in a building that dates back to 1600 which was the property of an aristocratic Roman family for centuries. In the 1950s, the building was bought by the Spolaore family, who turned it into a hotel, while maintaining the original atmosphere of a Venetian residence. The guests of this charming Venice hotel can still admire the antique stuccoes, bare beams, fine marble and the Venetian-style floors today. Everything is lit up by the typical Venetian windows that look out onto the Strada Nuova. The hotel had a pretty good location ( from San Marcuola you can catch a water bus to San Marco Square within minutes), and was in an area of Venice that was less expensive than in San Marco Square. It was also exceedingly clean and the rooms were of good size. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who are seeking a clean, comfy and fairly priced hotel.
