Excellent
40 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

First off, you have to realize that Carolina Beach is not Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach or any of those super-popularm built-up spots. It's more of a quiet outpost 15-20 mins from downtown Wilmington, very close to Wrightsville Beach and just North of Cape Fear. We were visiting family and didn't want to stay with up under them all weekend (and the kids wanted to be at the beach). You don't find "luxury" here; nope, you find good quality at a price. The unit we stayed in - #309 - delivered.

The units vary, depending on whether they've been updated or not. We looked at a few and many were stale and colorless. This unit had a bunch of color (and some style too) - you could tell someone put some money into painting and decorating it with nice pieces that successfully pushed the beach theme. This applied to the artwork, kitchen untensils (plates, glasses, etc.) and the bath & bed decorations (sofa bed's is a bit old). Overall, the place was REALLY fun to be in; our kids loved it.

As far as "stuff" in the area, there are a few good seafood spots within walking distance and more variety within a 15 min. drive (not to mention pizza delivery and subway and a nearby sort of hotel with a restaurant). The staff was very nice and the entire building seemed clean. If you want or need constant service, you won't find room service. In fact, if that's what you want, neither these Towers or Carolina Beach in general are for you. Seriously, try Hilton Head.

But if you want to take it slow, don't mind a week/wknd of simplicity, want an AMAZING view right on the water, then check this spot out. This particular unit was unique because our kids liked the upbeat, beachy decor, yet we liked it because it had color but didn't go overboard. It was right off the elevator, so we didn't have to really walk or lug anything, including our 2 kids gear. But no matter which suite you rent, the beach will always be right outside your window (all the units have balconies and our family of 4 could easily lounge on it with 4 chairs, could have squeezed 1-2 more, which is a lot). They also had a pool in case you have kids who aren't ready for the waves. TV's, DVD & VCR (small-ish TV, but plenty enough for our 3 days), and Blockbuster was 5 mins away.

Good times, good building, good price. For what it was, it sorta gets a solid 4 or 5 - assuming you go in NOT expecting any sort of Four Seasons or even Marriot experience. In an odd way, it was quaint and basic and that worked for us given this economy and the kind of beach town we were in.

Definitely 2 thumbs up, especially for unit 309. We'll return when visiting family in this area again.

Okay
37 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The rooms were ok but the service really wasnt very good. But it was in a good location. We were going to stay a week, but instead ended up finding a nearby house that was affordable and happened to be open, and had its own pool. The kids loved that.

Excellent
32 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We have stayed at the Atlantic Towers every year for vacation; and it is truly THE best at Carolina Beach. Atlantic Towers was the first high rise condo at Carolina Beach, and I remembered staying there in the late 1980's, when it was first built, so our first family vacation, we decided this was the place. The people are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the unit we reserve has the best view of the ocean, and the strip. Kitchen in units is perfect size, personal safe in each room for security. Atlantic Towers is awesome, and I highly recommend it for families.

Both indoor and outdoor pools are very nice, outdoor could be a little bigger, and they seem to use a little too much chlorine in the indoor pool, but otherwise, no complaints about this fine establishment.
