While the atrium is impressive, this hotel hits you with a lot of nuisance charges. Internet in rooms is cable connected, wireless in the lobby is separate and the lobby signal is blocked in the nearby conference rooms where you need to pay another very hefty group rate to connect - the whole arrangement is ridiculous. Local calls are $1 each, but who would have guessed that includes calls from the house phone in the lobby to your room? Elevator wait times are extremely long. "Deluxe" double rooms were a bit small but clean. Housekeeping never seemed to get the towels right. Food and drinks were on the high side of expensive; the surrounding neighborhood is mostly commercial (not that lively) and every single time you walk you can be assured of being panhandled.
