Mediocre
This hotel was not what I expected from the name and price I paid to stay there. The room was neat and large however I woke up the next morning after my stay with a case of pink eye and so did my daughter. So that being said, my concern is with how...

I have stayed in several downtown area hotels, and this one by far outranks the rest with regard to friendliness of all staff: every single staff member we had contact with was not only helpful and professional, but genuinely friendly and attentive not only to us, the paying adults, but also to our young children. Yes, the room was small and this can be a hindrance when traveling with small children, but theprice, service and amenities more than compensate for the room size.

I took my small nuclear family to Atlanta this past week for a quick trip to the famous Georgia Aquarium and was not pleased with
Pros- The staff seemed to be Very Friendly and courteous (though valet parking was "friendly for a reason" i.e. tip). Room was relatively clean. Flat screen T.V. Down Comforter on each double bed. Close to our destination (4-5 blocks to Aquarium).
Cons - Financially....Very overpriced room. Room was very small. No free wired or wireless internet. Expensive parking for a single night. Room fan whistled all night long. Our room was located adjacent to the Master A/C unit therefore it was VERY LOUD!!! Curtain could not be drawn closed to prevent outside light from entering.

We were traveling to Tampa Florida from North Carolina for Thanksgiving and went out of our way to stay at the Marriott to go to the Atlanta Aquarium. The overall appearance of the hotel is very nice and the front desk help was super. Our double beds were very cramped and the A/C was so loud it woke me up everytime it came on. I am a pretty sound sleeper if this gives you any idea. DON"T walk around at night. We had no less than 10 homeless folks asking us for money. All those things were tolerable. WHAT WAS NOT TOLERABLE is the valet scraped our new dodge charger on the ramp into the parking garage and the manager assured us they would take care of the damage. This car was dent and scratch free. We are the people who park in the back of a parking lot just so people won't park next to us. The damage is about $500 to $700 but Marriott and their contract with AAA Parking has declined our claim 3 times and told us on the phone that they deny all claims of this nature. So I have no idea what claims they actually pay. So if you don't want to risk your car being damaged I suggest you not book a room at this hotel. We WERE loyal Marriott reward customers and use Marriott hotel exclusively for our yearly Spring break Williamsburg trips. Marriott, if you are reading this I will revise all my reviews when the situation is rectified. I can't believe you would rather risk losing a loyal customer over $500 when we can spend that much money in one stay with you. In addition to our car being damaged, my son left his jacket in the room after we checked out. I called that day and told them exactly where it was and housekeeper already cleaned the room. When I called I was told that lost and found was closed (6pm) and someone would call me back. No one called back and I called three addition times and no jacket was located. That jacket was in that room and you can put two and two together .
It is an elegant hotel that has class, and the rooms are clean. The bed was excellent. The room I had was very quiet, for a downtown hotel. The bathroom is tiled, which is great, and the showerhead allowed for "massaging". A minor point was that it is rather small, which is fine, unless more than one person is in it. The hotel is close to most attractions and there are excellent restaurants close by. Be careful late at night in the surrounding area-perhaps not the safest. I would give the hotel a 3.5 rating, based upon the cleanliness and the friendly and courteous staff. However, the parking fee is stiff. I chose not to leave my car at the hotel, so I went out a few miles and took the Marta subway back in. This is not the best situation, but I'm a senior on a limited budget. I wish the downtown hotels would provide a service for those who do not wish to use their cars at all during their stay - perhaps a coupon from some parking garage verifying that, and then give us a discount. Seriously, parking is a source of contention, and a hotel of this calibre should realize that and give us a break, for heaven's sake. Next time, I will look for a hotel with free parking a little way out of town.

The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and courteous. Since I'm a senior, the rate I had was $99 and for the money this was an excellent choice. My room was toward the end of the hall, and it was extremely quiet for the middle of Atlanta. The beds are simply wonderful, and I slept like a rock. I would give the hotel a rating of 3 and one-half stars. The bathroom was clean and completely tiled, with a great shower head that also allowed for "massaging". Of course, I did not go out on the town at night, but I noticed that it was close to all the main attractions, and had plenty of good restaurants nearby. The only negative I could see is that the parking is very expensive. So what I did was to go out of town a few miles (fortunately I know the area somewhat) and take the Marta subway back, so I got "free" parking, so to speak. But this is not the best situation, but I'm on a limited budget, and so was forced to do it this way. I wish the hotels would provide some kind of service for those who wish to just park their car and not again drive until they check out, but I guess this is wishful thinking.
