The suites have full kitchen. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view unit on the 31st floor.The unit was perfect for family of five. The ocean and Diamond Head view was nice, but Sunset was obscured by other buildings in August. The Mini-mart on the fifth ...
60 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My husband and decided on The Sunset as it appeared to be a great value for the price. We were not disappointed. We were in Waikiki to attend two family weddings. After visiting other guests in their pricier hotel rooms, we were totally convinced that we had made the wisest choice. Check in was easy, the coffee was enjoyed and the extra space of a condo and view was more than appreciated. We soon learned that we were within walking distance of virtually everything which made us glad that we didn't opt to rent a car. The staff was friendly, the maid service was great and we were happy just sitting on the lanai in down time and enjoying the trade winds. It was our first trip the Islands and was so memorable that we would love to return, even though the flight from the East Coast was grueling, but worth it.
Friendly, helpful staff. Busy lobby, but quiet rooms. Well-equipped kitchen. Very clean. Take the mtn. view; it's beautiful. My only regret was there was no TV to fall asleep to. The only TV was in the living room.

Horrible
We were sold on the 'condo' aspect of this hotel. Once we arrived we were very disappointed, rooms smelled of smoke, carpets are dirty, bathrooms tiny, kichens mostly nonfunction. They are very understaffed, rooms weren't cleaned, mimiumal service....

Close to the beach. friendly staff. It was great for us (party of 5). 37 floors- avoid rush hour traffic (only three elevators). Other than that we had a good time.
