The rooms were extremely clean, but the bed was a disaster. I tossed and turned the entire night and finally gave up about 4AM on sleeping. When I checked out I told the clerk it would behoove them to upgrade their beds. He said "Um, would you like a receipt?". So much for addressing the needs of the customer!

It was easily located, but the parking was not convenient. They did have valet parking, because it was about a half block from the hotel. It was inconvenient if you wanted to make a couple of trips to the car. We only stayed one night and it was a pleasant experience.
I am somewhat likely

I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The noise levels were so horrible that I checked out in the middle of the night. The police were actually called by hotel staff because of an altercation between some of the guests. The so-called "security" at this hotel doesn't even exist. The manager of the hotel is VERY insensitive toward guests. The beds were uncomfortable, and the rooms were not exactly clean, either. The food at Alexander's is good, but not worth what you pay for it. The nicest person I encountered during my stay was the nice lady from housekeeping who brought me some extra pillows.
Bottom line: DON'T STAY AT THE PLAZA!

Most importantly, it's walking distance to the Shakespeare Center. i love staying here. very friendly staff and if you don't mind budget accommodations a great experience.
