Newport's Artful Lodger is a delightful inn combining great views, location, and breakfast. The Artful Lodger @ 503 Spring St. is a romantic Victorian bed & breakfast inn on historic Spring Street. An intimate treasure tucked in amongst Newport's glorious mansions.. "Our warmest welcome! When you stay with us, you will be neighboring "The Elms," a Newport mansion owned by the infamous robber baron, E. J. Berwind. The mansion is famous for its sunken gardens and lavish parties (even in present day). The secret coal tunnel designed by the coal magnate is steps away from our front door. It was used for discreetly transporting fuel for the first electric lights of the turn of the century elite's "summer cottages."

I enjoyed my stay at the Artful Londger so much that I am coming back next year. The design of the 1850 structure was as eloquent as the breakfasts. If you are lucky you will get to try the signature blueberry french toast.
