Aqua Waikiki Wave Resort

Had fantastic large room with 3 yes 3 large Queen beds for $177/night. The mattresses were fantastic with very high quality soft feel with 300 count sheets. Large LCD TV. Perfect location in the middle of Waikiki. Just 1 block away from Duke's Restaurant. Staff were very nice and helpful. Lobby looks old but has free coffee. Later I stayed at the Pacific Monarch in a condo for more money for much less quality. While at the Pacific Monarch all I could think of was why did I leave the Wave Resort.

This hotel was a absoulte disgrace. We discovered bed bugs the second night of our stay. When we contacted reception they did not seemed surprised and placed us in one of their higher end hotels promising a full refund. When we return the next morning to confirm these arrangements with a hotel manager we where informed that someone looked into the manner and there was no sight of a bed bug infestation. This was at 8.30 in the morning we checked out at 11 that night. There is no way they could have had professional in there first thing.

To make matters worse they refused to refund us for the whole stay as promised (only the last night when we discovered the bed bugs). Once we looked at our bank statements they did not refund us for the night of the bed bugs stay and actually charged us for movie entertainment that we did not request.

This place is horrible!

very teeny tiny pool, but with the beach only a couple of blocks away it was fine. Need extra towels,cups, pillows,etc. items sent immediately up to room. Staff very helpful, and courteous. Parking sucks if you get back past dusk. That was actually the only negative. close to everything. would stay there again. For the budget conscious.

People running the front desk were prompt, attentive, courteous, and accommodating.

However, the cleaning people need re-training. I stayed for five days, and my bathroom floor was never swept. I know this because some discarded sand remained in the same area on the floor. Also I noticed the same piece of trash was left near my closet for three days, which indicated they don't vacuum regularly either. The sliding glass doors and furniture needed to be wiped down.

It also should be noted that the hotel is surrounded on both sides by huge parking structures, so any rooms up to the 7th floor are subject to nonstop garage noises 24 hours a day.

As far as the free breakfast, lower your expectations. All it is is a choice of tini, tiny pastries, apples, coffee and orange juice.

I stayed here for 2 nights. Luckily, we were upgraded to a corner room which has a better view and larger space. The room is clean but you can hear a lot of noise. The location is very convenient. You can easily walt to the beach or go shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most important of all, it is cheap. Since I didn't spend too much time in the room, I think the hotel is a bargain.
