Aqua Waikiki Marina Hotel

Ok this is probably my 7th time staying at the Aqua Marina and I at first really enjoyed it. I mean it had accomodation most budget hotels dont. You get a kitchenette for a really good price. But this stay was probably the most important one. It was my Anniversary and we wanted to just get away, Well For starters. They would not let me check in because it was under my husband's name, then when I asked for parking they tell me 1. That I have to pay for the parking (duh I knew that been there before. So I hand them my card since I did not have husbands card to pay for the parking 2. They have no parking remotes as the hotel was booked solid YET the parking garage was completely empty on all floors. I had to run down stairs and let them know everytime I wanted to drive somewhere and run in when we returned..and yet still made me pay full price for the parking what a joke. Then to make matters even worse. when we go to check out they turned around and charged my card the full stay instead of just the parking since we paid for everything on line a week before we even checked in. When I tried to call and get my money back noone could bring my reservation back up to confirm it was paid twice. yet I am looking at two separate back statements showing two different charges for the same day same hotel. I was beyond pissed. SO I wrote the most nasty letter I could muster up and Vow never ever to return to the worst hotel in Waikiki... I am a local what is up with that.. Hello what happen to our ALOHA for shame.... People dont waste your hard earned money on crap go stay at the Pagoda it is way better.

The place is a 40 year old, 40 story dump. Only 1 elevator worked when I was there for a week in January 2008 and I understand that only 1 elevator has worked for 5 weeks now from a long term resident. The rooms have NOT been renovated since the 80s and are old, dated, small, cramped, smelly, and dirty. The bathrooms reek of mold. There is NO FREE BREAKFAST as they advertise and the rooms have only 1 double or 2 twin beds. No more. Do not waste your money. This is to be avoided.

This place is a joke. Now I understand the day we came the computers were down but that doesnt allow the poor customer service we got. We get there and our reservstion was "not there" Then the other customer service agent came over and he found it so great we can go to our room right, No we don't have keys so we cant go to our room yet. So we wait and wait and mind you this man knows I'm getting married in 2 hours, but hes helping other people instead of taking us to our room so I can get ready for my wedding. Now I have about 45 mins to get ready and hes still not helping me so I had to wave down a housekeeper who then took us to our room which we had no key for. In the end I had 1/2 hour to get ready for my wedding and after my wedding I had to worry about getting our room keys. If this doesn't make you want to stay here get this. Then they charged me for 2 rooms when we only had one. It was the worst hotel experience of my life.

When we went to our room, the room was not prepared. Then we got a second room and when we got there, somebody else was still staying in that room. We finally got a third room and that room was ready. There were no good communications between housekeeping and the front desk of who checked out and who did not. We were also told that they had computers to use for the internet. It turned out that they had internet connection. The computers that you could use were at the hotel next door.
