As far as the hotel itself, it was ok. Nothing spectacular, simply a place to sleep but the location is convenient to trolley and bus lines and is right across the street from the beach. Shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Douglas at the front desk is an absolute gem. Extremely pleasant and so helpful. He is an asset to this hotel. Also great and worth giving props to was Greg and Lave. Will definitely stay at this hotel when we come back with the kids. If you are looking for luxury and breakfast this is not the place but if you are looking for convenience and hospitality then this is definitely the place!

I stayed in this hotel from 7/31/08 to 8/04/08. It was on the 11 th floorI.My room was reserved by my travel agent. I think the agent made money on it. This hotel is really convenient, but it is really too old that I have never stay in such...
55 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel may not be for the luxury-conscious visitor; but it definitely provides an economical opportunity for the on-the-go traveler who enjoys the lovely scenery, likes to engage the friendly staff, and wishes to explore the local flavor along Waikiki Beach. Small rooms. Plan ahead. Check the internet before selecting a room or even this hotel. I'd recommend the Deluxe Ocean View on the upper floor levels only. We enjoyed having our lanai/patio door open in the evenings and throughout the entire night to listen to the ocean waves, along with the music and local street life as it slowly wound down. Fantastic views and frequent opportunities for grand ocean photos anytime. Amenities galore. We loved it! We didn't need a pool with the great weather and a fantastic beach just across the street. Only a mini-frig required us to plan our meal options. Still enough space for the basics. Great for the active and thrifty traveler who wants to run out and see a community instead of just gazing out glass windows, sitting around a crowded lobby, or eating at one on-the-property restaurant. Access to the beach was fabulous. There were frequent Hawaiian cultural-sponsored activities by the Banyan Tree just outside the hotel's front door. Parking was through an adjoining hotel facility, minor inconvenience. Allowed us to explore the Island, trek the trails, smell the Plumeria, and not feel guilty about the costs for the stay. I took a walk every morning - near the zoo, park, beach, Ala Wai Park and Canal, and some of the best historic structures to Waikiki Beach. There may be more expensive and luxurious places to stay; but we planned this one out ourselves after much searching and were pleased with the result. Hope you find your stay in Hawaii as wonderful as we did, where ever you decide to stay.
We were plesantly surprised by this quaint little hotel, we loved all the little idiosynchracies about it, we were just able to squeeze in to every facility and loved all of them.
We loved the ladies who refreshed our room every day,...
We will never stay there again!

Mediocre
While the staff was friendly, accomodating and gracious, the room was old, rundown and unclean. The water faucet in the bathroom not only turned on by itself, but made noise all night. The air conditioner was old, dirty and moldy. Since the air...
