This was my third trip to Oahu and my husband's first. I wanted to stay somewhere personal and different and yet allow my husband the experience of Waikiki.
We were not given a key to the deadlock potion of our door. (They said they couldn't find the deadlock keys.) There is no security during the day (when tourists are OUT) only in the evening. Our room was burgled and everything including the tv was taken. I didn't even have a hairbrush.
The hotel was uncooperative. (They left a little sticky note on our door to notify us of the theft.) Our honeymoon was ruined. We spent the rest of our trip trying to fix everything, looking over our shoulders, and extremely stresssed. (And my husband was CFo for 11 small hotels and casinos at the time! He was shocked at the lack of caring, concern, and help. He told me how it would have been handled at 'his' properties.) To add insult to injury, the hotel's insurance company took NO responsibility for our claim. I guess they figured, we were gone so it didn't matter any more.
We suspect it was an inside job and even had an idea who did it. We asked to see the security tapes but were told there weren't any. Shoddy, shoddy, shoddy security.
We are always telling people how horrible our stay was and warn them to stay away from the Aqua properties, but especially this one.
The staff and management were very friendly until this happened and then you would have thought WE robbed the place.
If you want to stay on Oahu, I would suggest a nice Bed and Breakfast. Support the locals instead of a company who couldn't care less.
The Aqua Bamboo makes you feel like a welcome guest not just another tourist. Its staff is very hospital and friendly. The rooms are nice and clean with a flat panel TV and free Internet access. Continental Breakfast is included to either eat at the
We liked the location, the price, the congenial staff, the clean, comfortable room with lanais, and poolside Continental breakfast. There were modern appliances in a full kitchen, a flat screen television and internet connection in the room. The...

Good
The thing we liked most about the hotel is the how you the staff gets to know you and you them over the week of stay. This is almost not possible in the big chain hotels.
Hotel:
1. Very close to the beach (just a 5 min walk). Leads to right...

Excellent
I booked a room here with the intent of saving a few bucks, but what a great find this place turned out to be! The physical location makes walking to the beach a snap (less than 1 minute walk), and we had fast access to an endless number of...

Excellent
This is a great hotel,
it isnt one of those huge hotels that you get lost in, it has 12 floors and it is a block away from the Waikiki Beach. The smaller size makes it perfect in the fact that everytime you come back to the hotel they...
We had a corner room on the eleventh floor. The room was decent, a bit nicer than what I expected. The shower head is a bit low for tall people. We were surprised with a gift - chocolate covered macadamia nuts for the special occasion we were...

Okay
My wife and I were looking a for a medium priced hotel for our holiday in Hawaii when we came across the Aqua Bamboo & Spa. Beside the price, what sealed the deal to book was the fact that the room came with a kitchenette and not just a fridge and...

Horrible
I would not recommend staying at this hotel AT ALL! The bathroom squeals for 10 minutes after you flush. There is no TV in the private room. Little to no kitchen. ALL THE DISHES WERE DISGUSTING! They all needed rewashing. There really is no...
