I liked that this was an inexpensive option for me... overall there was a high quality of service, the front desk staff was really helpful and friendly on check in/out. It was a tiny room, but clean and quite adequate. I like the way the units and building had been updated.
I will definitely stay there again. Economical, safe, convenient. Best of all worlds

We had a few minor problems Our first night, when We advised the staff the next morning We changed rooms and things when great from then on. The room wasn't large but big enough for 4 people, and the price was right. The Staff was friendly, Helpful and Curtious. We had a very pleasant time here. NO bar and restaurant in the hotel was not a problem since there was several with in walking distants.
I am very likely
to return to the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I am currently on vaction visiting my boyfriend. I called and the aqua aloha surf hotel to plan a romatic getaway for the weekend. The personel on the phone told me that i had to use my credit card to make the reservation. He also told me that it was a 35 dollar deposit with the c.c. over the phone. We drove around for like an hour just to find the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel I paid for the room. The man told me that the deposit was now 100 dollars with the credit card. 300 dollars without the credit card. What?!?! In the end I got a refund and end up not staying in the hotel. Why is in no one made the effort to explain the change and the non helpful service. am i wrong?
ok well let me start by saying that I am very picky about the hotels I stay in. I am used to staying at placed like the Hilton, or Hyatt, or Marriott. My boyfriend is in the Navy and I had to make plans at the last minute, and while we were supposed to go earlier in June and stay at the Hilton that fell through. When I got to the hotel I thought it was nice but the room was really small. The bathroom was blah to say the least. A plywood painted sliding door is hardly a bathroom door. The bathroom was outdated. The towels were clean but our sheets were not changed on a daily basis so the sand was a problem. I suppose I am just used to different accomodations. However it was comfortable not perfect but okay. I was there to see my boyfriend not to have a plush hotel, however having what I am used to would have been nice.

The photos are not an accurate depiction!! I was extremely disappointed in this place and the staff were not friendly at all. I will definitely not return!
I was very disappointed. I was invited to take a two week vacation to visit my brother in law who is in the military in Hawaii for the Christmas/New year holiday. The bathroom was very small. the continental breakfast was un enjoyable, it consist of apples, bitter oranges, bananas, and blueberry and banana muffins, and juice that was horrible tasting. You have to pay $1.00 for the coffee and hot chocolate. There was no snack machine or no kind of eatery in the hotel nor a gym. However,I like the LCD T.V, the mini refrigerator, and microwave in the room. The beds and towels were clean. our particular house keeping lady was friendly. there were no roaches. However, I did notice two days before we were to check out, baby ants were on the dresser near the sliding glass door. Also, on our last day, the hotel water was shut off for 1 hour due to some sort of emergency I was told by a woman hotel receptionist. My daughter was in the shower full of soap and body scrub. After several trips to the lobby for accommodations. I was then given a hotel key to another room so that she could rinse off. I would recommend this hotel during spring break for college kids only!!

The only nice thing in this hotel is maybe the LCD TV. The bathroom was too small, with rusty metallic parts, and even when the hotel was renovated, the bathrooms are very old, including the horrible tile on the small shower. We were on the last floor, and for the days that rained, our luggage got wet because there are some leaks on the roof. The breakfast is nothing good, just some small cup cakes, pineapple juice, and bananas. The room smelled bad or old, and the housekeeping only makes the bed, but the bathroom floor was never swiped, or the carpet was never vacuumed. I will not stay here again.

The rooms weren't too bad, the staff was friendly, the breakfasts were good and I liked the open air lobby. It has a good central location so you are within walking distance to stores, restaurants and the beach. The pool was a little small. The one big problem I had was that we had to park 4 blocks away at another hotel the first day/night because parking was very limited at the hotel. There are only 35 parking spots in the basement and it costs $18 a night. I don't think that you should have to pay for parking a hotel but if you do, it should be no more than $5.

Its a convenient location, its clean, and quiet. The parking was very limited with tight spaces. There is a real supermarket on the same block! Its very typical for a budget-type hotel in Hawaii so don't expect much.
The clientele tended to be on the upscale side. The maid service was friendly and nothing got stolen.
