The rooms weren't too bad, the staff was friendly, the breakfasts were good and I liked the open air lobby. It has a good central location so you are within walking distance to stores, restaurants and the beach. The pool was a little small. The one big problem I had was that we had to park 4 blocks away at another hotel the first day/night because parking was very limited at the hotel. There are only 35 parking spots in the basement and it costs $18 a night. I don't think that you should have to pay for parking a hotel but if you do, it should be no more than $5.

Its a convenient location, its clean, and quiet. The parking was very limited with tight spaces. There is a real supermarket on the same block! Its very typical for a budget-type hotel in Hawaii so don't expect much.
The clientele tended to be on the upscale side. The maid service was friendly and nothing got stolen.
I am very likely
to return to the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I was truly disappointed with this hotel especially the staff. The management needs to send their courtesy clerks/receptionists to a "How to Deal with Customers Training" because they have no idea how to deal with clients. Another thing, whatever happened to the words "WAKE UP CALL". We almost missed our airport bus because the clerk who was supposed to call us at 4:30 am was probably asleep herself.

The hotel personnel was not friendly. They put me in a smoking room and I requested a non smoking room. The windows did not close and the cleanliness was sub par. The charged for parking.
I am not likely
to return to the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

We stayed only two nights before boarding on a cruise. The hotel room was very small but adequate for our purpose. The continental breakfast was delivered to our room and it included a nice variety. The price was great.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel.
I might recommend it to friends.

The standard rooms here are very small, so small in fact, that we paid nearly double to upgrade for the first night, then moved to another hotel.
The rooms were clean, the service was quite good, the high-speed internet access was free, and the pool was closed at time of our visit. Our room(s) faced the street, and we had view of another hotel. We would not recommend it to others.

I am very picky about where I lay my head, so I am here to give you the real skinny on the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel. This hotel is pretty decent. Although the room I had was small (two max) it was clean, efficient and modern. The location was great (there is a grocery store around the corner, the Food Pantry), you are minutes from Waikiki Beach and the hotel is on a major thoroughfare, so you can basically walk to wherever you need to go. They serve a continental breakfast in the morning, which was adequate. The pool was closed due to maintenance. The only thing that wasn't working too well was the balcony door, it was off track. The staff and housekeeping were friendly and knowledgeable. The biggest thing was that I did not see any bugs (it helped that I was on the 12th floor). The bottom line, if you want somewhere to lay your head and have access to the stores, beach, restaurants, and such, this is the place for you.

They offered to hold our luggage until check in time as we arrived in the morning from our cruise ship then did it again on the day we left so we could do more sightseeing without worrying about out bags. We made good use of the open air lounge and it was so comfortable with the breezes coming through.
