Welcome to the Angel of the Sea, Victorian Cape May's most elegant bed & breakfast. Located one half block from the beach in the quiet East end of town, the Angel offers the discriminating traveler a chance to experience the charm of a bygone era while enjoying an array of modern amenities.
Each of the 27 guestroom at the Angel, is uniquely furnished in Victorian style and each room has its own private bath. About a quarter of our rooms have ocean views, but all guests have access to common porches and balconies that wrap around the front of our twin houses. Every room at the Angel has cable television and wireless internet access is offered to all of our guests. Books and magazines are available in our common areas, as well as a selection of board games.
Our professional and friendly staff is ready to assist you in any way they can, whether it's making dinner reservations at one of the wonderful area restaurants or mapping out a bicycle excursion of town. We can tell you where to pick up a bottle of wine and where to buy tickets for a whale watch or trolley tour.

The Angel of the Sea is Victorian Cape May's most elegant bed & breakfast. Built in 1850 as the summer home of one of America's wealthiest industrialists, this Queen Anne style mansion was completely restored in 1989. All 27 guestrooms have private baths and many of the rooms, along with all of the porches and verandahs, have ocean views. It has been featured on many television shows including Great Country Inns, The Food Network and the Oprah Winfrey Show. It has received numerous awards including a Silver Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In 1999 it was named the #2 Bed & Breakfast in North American by the Reed Travel Group.

Nothing to dislike. Staff and the owner were very easy to talk to. Food was very good. Plus the coffee hour in the afternoon, and the wine tasting in the early evening was an unexpected surprise. Will go back.

Despite the power outage caused by Hurricane Hanna, we had a delightful stay at the Angel of the Sea. The 4pm tea time and 5:30 wine & cheese were spectacular! The staff was tremendously accommodating. We'd recommend this B&B to all.
I'm planning an anniversary getaway for my boyfriend and myself. I've never stayed at the Angel of The Sea and now I'm not so sure if I want to. I called to ask about prices and the girl seemed very annoyed and snotty when she answered....
