The location was perfect, and the rooms were clean, large enough and furnishings were pleasant. The staff was most friendly and helpful. Large closet, and bathroom and a queen bed. The veiw was but a brick building, but who has time in NYC to sit and look out of the window?

It had the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The city was noisy, but this is nearly inescapable. The rooms were a little small, but the website said this, so it was expected. The bar was very chic and inviting. The location was perfect and I'd stay there again without considering any other hotels.

This hotel made me feel content: I was comfortable. Even though I never needed room service or help hailing a cab, it was obvious that it was readily available.

On Nov. 25 2006 we checked out of the Ameritania Hotel in NYC. They had charged us about $900 too much.

When we looked to verify the amount on the rate card during check out, there was no amount that we signed and agreed to pay. I have contacted the hotel about a dozen times and some have acknowledged the error and some have not.

Bottom line: They do not have a card signed by me that the rate would be as high as I was charged. The reservations were made by a friend and confirmed the week prior to checking in. At that time they verified the rate and rooms

I made reservations at this hotel on Hotwire, and it was listed as 3 stars. The room had two feet of space surrounding a double bed. There were blood tracks down the mattress at the foot of the bed which could be evidence of bedbugs. The bathroom smaller than a tiny closet, and the shower floor was dirty.

The hotel was okay but not outstanding. The first room was unsatisfactory, very dark, and gloomy. The second room was okay. Two hundred and fifty dollars a night seemed a lot to me, but I guess that's New York.
