Ameritania Hotel

Hotel looked nice and chic on the website, but dull in reality. Our room was very cramped - 2 large comfortable beds but little space for anything else. It looked fairly clean, but when I dropped an earring I searched under the bed ... and wished I hadn't! Bathroom was very small and looked unchanged since 1940's. Perhaps other rooms are nicer, but ours was pretty disappointing. View from the window was a dull office building. The best thing about the hotel is the location, which is great. We could access all the best of New York - which is just as well because we wanted to spend as little time as possible in our room.

We were right where we wanted to be...walking distance to most everything. Our room was clean and bedding changed daily. Our original room was very small so we upgraded to a room with 2 queen beds. The room was plenty big and the bathroom was roomy. The only complaint we had was dimly lit rooms and lack of a view though we didn't spend much time in our room so that didn't really matter much. Our request for extra towels a couple times was promptly answered. Upon arriving our TV didn't work so that again was taken care of within 10 minutes. The morning we checked out the bellman quickly took care of arranging alternate transportation to the airport for us when our plans changed due to a flight change. We would definetly stay here again. We felt it was a good value.

The location was perfect, and the rooms were clean, large enough and furnishings were pleasant. The staff was most friendly and helpful. Large closet, and bathroom and a queen bed. The veiw was but a brick building, but who has time in NYC to sit and look out of the window?

The location is the most important factor when we reserve in mid town New York City.

The bed was absolutely the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. They also gave me a suite at the regular rate, which I was more than ok with. The rooms were not well soundproofed due to the window air conditioner units. Also, the curtains did not quite close and the light was obtrusive in the morning. However, that did not matter because the bed was so absolutely comfortable. The location is also wonderful and I would recommend this to anyone.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The shower delivered all the hot water I could ever want. Apart from that, the comfort was standard, with quick and easy check in and check out.
