Dirty rooms.
Low lifes & women of questionable character cruising parking lot all night.
Incompetent & rude staff & the owner was even worse.
My husband & I travel for work regularly & we have never reviewed any hotel we have stayed at, but this one - everyone needs to be warned.
Police called on guests next door, per owner's request - banging on their door & yelling about them checking out. Apparently they had the wrong room & scared the guests silly.
Then, their credit card machine went down & their solution was to lock the guests (us included) out of their rooms multiple times so when you went to
the front desk for help they could take your credit card - which they already had made copies of, along with copies of valid ID's - & attempt to use it on their broken machine.
After my husband was locked out for the 6th or 7th time, the front desk told him "not to worry, we'll take care of the credit card at checkout" - but that was not to be.
At 3 am in the morning, someone came pounding on our door & then started phoning our room. Now, we have no idea who this stranger is & we were frightened to say the least. At 6 am, the same thing happened & when it was light we went down to the desk to complain. Turns out, the owner had instructed the staff to do this so he could once again get our credit card from us - the card he already had made copies of.
At that point we gave up & left to find other accommodations as we hadn't slept all night & had a 10 hour work day ahead of us & a 12 hour drive back home.
America's Best Value's corporate office was contacted & they could care less.
On a final note, American Express has gotten involved, as after many days later, they put an unauthorized charge on account using the number they had copied down the day we checked in. Seems they didn't need our card after all.
Worse hotel experience of our lives. Be aware & steer clear.
