We obtained reservations for 4 Aug 2007 over a month ago for 2 rooms at Americas Best Value Inn in Dublin, Ohio. Two days before arriving at the hotel we received a confirmation letter with the reservation numbers. We presented our confirmation letter to the guy at the front desk and were informed that someone had cancelled our reservations and our request for a room could not be honored. I left my husband in the lobby to discuss the issue and while standing outside I was harrassed by very unsavory hotel guests on the 2nd floor. Something to the effect of getting up in their room and well...you can guess the rest. Doors to the hotel were hanging open with junk strewn all over the balcony area as well as the parking lot. I honestly felt like I was in a really bad part of town and Dublin is actually very nice. The hotel rep gave us some story about it not being an issue with their hotel but should be taken up with the reservation company because they really don't communicate with them. We were lucky enough to get a great room at the Hilton and had a great time at the Dublin Irish Festival and when the festival comes around next year I can guarantee you that even if it is the only room available within 25 miles of Dublin we will not be staying at America's Best Value Inn. I hope their business closes down.
