I called the hotel prior to making a reservation and asked how clean the rooms and pool were because I was planning a trip to cedar point w/ my family and w were going to be spending a lot of time at our room and pool they assured me it was very clean. When I arrived with my family I was shocked at the site of the inside of the hotel it was very dirty and stunk so before I checked in I went to the pool to have a look to my surprise I could barley see the bottom it was so cloudy. I went to the front desk and told them about the conversation I had w/ them prior to making a reservation and how they assured me how clean it was (they said sorry) I told them I was not going to check in and did not want be charged for anything (they said sorry we are still going to charge you for the first night) I did not check in they still billed me for the first night ($130.00) When I got home I called the headquarters and explained my situation (they said sorry and did nothing) STAY AWAY
I had a similar situation happen with the front desk staff and the corporate staff. In my situation A maid entered my room within hours of check-in and went through my purse and stole over $200 in cash. I was in shock. How could this happen to people on vacation? The police were called and found a maid had swiped the lock. So proof!! Never got and apology or offer of compensation. The rest of my stay never got maid service, no clean towels for two days. Felt violated and stuck because they left me with no money on 4Th of July weekend. Over the next week called corporate office about 6 times talked to someone once who told me if I didn't like the hotel then I should have stayed somewhere else. Left messages for two other people through the 1-800 corporate number at least three times each never got a reply back. Such bad business practices. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau I suggest you do too. I'm getting the money back for my room!
