The only reason I chose a cheap hotel is because I don't spend most of my time in the hotel. The most time I spend in the hotel is a maximum of 3 hours excluding sleep time, so why spend an ungodly amount of money for a room you are not going to be in?
This hotel made me feel respected: The maids did not come in the room or bother us until we were gone for the day.

They had poor quality rooms--no hot water. Also, they served a carbs-only type of breakfast (old prepackaged donuts/cereal bars).

This specific Econo Lodge wasn't up to par. I was unable to book in the facility that I usually use in Orlando. I will not book at this one again, no matter the price. The room was not properly cleaned or maintained. The housekeeping continually bothered me, even with a "do not disturb" sign on my door.
