Graduation weekend at W.S.U. 5/2/2008. Only place we could find a room in Pullman. They charged us $159.00 for a $40.00 room. Shame on them. I would NEVER give them any of my money again.

my group of business associates and i made reservations to stay at American Travel-Inn Motel. when we arrived at the hotel we were ready to go to our room, which was supposed to be a double bed, it was a single bed. I went to the front desk where the owner told me he would fix the mistake for no charge!!!!! a mistake he made no less!

after he gave me the new key for the RIGHT room, we gathered our bags from our cars and headed upstairs to our room, the owner cam out and waved for us to come down stairs. I and one of my business associates headed down to the front office. we went in and the owner said that we could only have two people stay in the room. curious, why would i make reservations for two when my associates were five? After trying to explain to the owner that i would gladly then rent one more room, and having him refuse this offer. I asked for a refund. he refused. i explained that we had not used the room, we had not been in the room. He was completely unwilling to give me a refund!

so my only recourse was to contact police and file a report for credit card fraud. i was charged by this hotel for services not rendered and had to deal with an immense hassle in front of my business associates! fortunately they also agreed that this was freakishly unusual for the hospitality industry and it did not cost me an account.

I called and made a reservation. When I called back, they couldn't find it, but made me a new one. I was a little worried as hotels were sold out all over Pullman so I called back again the week of out trip. They couldn't find it again. I told them that I wanted to cancel and they told me they would charge a $25 fee. This is not what I was told at the beginning, I had been told it was 72 hours OR $25 and I was giving more than 72 hours notice. They actually hung up on me. When I called back someone else answered and I calmly said I was trying to understand the cancelation policy and fee. He angrily said it is always $25 to cancel no matter what and hung up on me. Do not give these people your credit card!

This was not a fancy place, but conveniently located in downtown Pullman. Clean and friendly. Pool was also clean and beds were very comfy. Refrigerator and microwave in room were an unexpected surprise.
