American Eagle Inn Inn - Page 1

We have to travel from the midwest to the southeast twice a year and April of 2007 decided to try this even though it was the highest price in the area. It was a big disappointment from the moment we arrived. The staff was unfriendly and not knowledgeable. Unfortunately I had forgotten my shampoo and noticed the complimentary bottle was missing. I was told to go to the dollar store down the road if I needed some. We should have left at that point but after 1,000 miles were too tired to continue on. The room was definitely substandard, the carpet was dirty, there was mold in the bathroom, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the linen was inferior and looked well worn and perhaps used by others. We did go down and ask what could be done and told "nothing". By morning we did notice there was only one other car in the lot. The continental breakfast had ants on the stale rolls, fruit flys on the one banana, the cream cheese was sour and the one bagel stale and dry. In the past year I have tried contacting the management via phone and email and have never recieved an acknowledgement.

It's so nice to walk in to a hotel in AMERICA that is owned by AMERICANS. Rooms were nice, the hotel was quiet and the staff was friendly and helpful. We travel from Illinois to Florida twice a year and this hotel will be one of our stopping points from now on.
