The room was smelly, there was mold on the walls, and there was old blood on the mattress (like someone had their throat cut). The free coffee in the hall made you not want to drink it. The man on the front desk was very rude. He would not look at us or make the phone call when we asked him to call us a taxi to the outlet.
Then when we checked out the next morning and we asked to leave our bags in the office while we finished shopping for a couple of hours he said "Well, I can't guarantee they will be there we you get back" and then he said our only option was to pay for a half day room charge (just to store our bags), which we did, as we had no choice.
Yes, it can be said the outlet is across the street from the motel, however we went for the day after Christmas sales and the snow was plowed to the edge of the six lane road and there is no pedestrian cross light and no sidewalk and it took about 20 minute walk, risking your life to cross the street and walk on the road with traffic.
The only grace to be given was a staff change when we collected our bags later and the lady re-credited the half day charge and apologized for the man and said she knew what he was like. This place should be called the "Bates" motel. We have since found the Marriot at Newburg, which we can recommend.
