I was going through this website and happened upon the review below. I couldn't disagree more with the other person! We stayed here for a family vacation in August 2007 and all of us agree that it was the best vacation we've ever had. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and accommodating, and the evening events were wonderful!
This small mountain resort is located at the northeast entrance to Mt. Rainier National Forest. We found it easy to explore all over the Park from here (the Sunrise area was our family's favorite) plus we made a day trip over to a wonderful cave about 45 minutes away called Boulder Cave.
The accommodations were very clean and the owners obviously put a lot of work into the place. We didn't actually use the fireplace since it was warm, but the kitchen facilities were great and our family of 5 really enjoyed the Loft Suite with 2 bathrooms! Our teenagers particularly liked having the whole loft to themselves!
We stayed at the resort for 4 nights and during the time we were there, evening activities consisted of a barbecue (donation basis with great food!), two bonfires and a Mt. Rainier program. We loved the chance to visit with all the other guests, and our kids were able to find others who wanted to start a volleyball game.
In addition to the pool & hot tub, there's a recreation lodge with ping pong, foosball, and lots of books and games you're able to borrow. The resort has a small grocery store that's surprisingly well stocked with reasonable prices, and a gift shop.
Since we were a family, we couldn't stay in the very romantic Honeymoon Cabin, but one of the friendly office staff showed it to us when we checked out.
We've recommended this place to many friends and plan to go back again this summer.
