I did not stay in the place based on the phone call that I made. I wanted to book the room and after persistent angry voice from the hotel personel DEMANDING the card number the person on the other end hang up on me. RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!! My husband called before me to acquire about the price and encouter as well some very nasty person on the other end. All well we did not stay in that place and that was probably the best thing we did on that trip considering other reviews on this site.

Word of edvice to the owners of that place, hotels run based primarly on the good costumer service so get you s...t together.

My mom and her cousin stayed there this week. If I had known what this place was like I would've never booked that hotel. The hotel manager was the rudest SOB there could be. He's lucky I wasn't there or I would've put him in intensive care! My mom is an elderly woman, when she asked him for the motel's email address so I could send her a confirmation on a tour I booked for her, he yelled at her as if she was asking him for something ridiculous. My mother was miserable staying there, but everything else was booked and she has a problem walking. To make things worse there were mice, roaches and bed bugs and the room was filthy. They were put into a one bed room because the room they had for her was on the 4th floor and they don't have an elevator. She decided to stay in this room instead of moving into another 2 bed room on the first floor. On the second night of her stay, when she went to ask how much the room was being that it was a one bed room he tried to charge her the same price for a double, I had called earlier and asked for the room rate and it was $12 cheaper, when she told him this he got annoyed but refused to credit her $12 towards the rest of her stay. I myself work for a 4 star hotel and can't imagine this type of service, I might expect this from a hostel in a ghetto neighborhood. I would stay away from this property and any of it's affiliates, It's family owned so unfortunately complaining would get you nowhere.

This little hotel that lies right on Lombard Street has a pool! Its staff was quite friendly and there is parking available. However it has no restaurant, although there are many along the popular street.

What a horrible experience!

The room was very smelly, there were spider webs on walls and a hole in the celling with dust falling from it, the bathroom wasn't clean...

Futhermore, the owner is not reliable AT ALL!! We booked the room many months before the trip, for 7 nights, but we had to cancel one night in the week. We called a few weeks before the trip and the owner told us the cancellation for this night was ok. At the check in, he kept tolding us that the cancellation wasn't possible and that we had to pay for the night even if we weren't there (and even if we called before). And we can't argue with him because he can't speak in english !! So we had to pay for his lie, in addition of a bad stay at this hotel.

Don't go there... even for the "low price". Find something else, pay a little more or stay at home!

Our room had some problems. The plug in the bathroom did not work making it virtually impossible to dry our hair.

Check the address of this hotel if you book it, because the address is actually a Travelodge (2755 Lombard St/ph. 415-931-8581). There is a hotel called Alpha Inn & Suites and the address is 2505 Lombard St. There is a glitch between Sidestep and hotels.com. Happy Travels!

We found the room and beds comfortable, although the pillows were flimsy. The bathroom had good water pressure and temperature control, although it had a somewhat shabby look, although clean. The walls were thin and noise from the room above was noticeable. There was no view of course. The internet service was excellent, effective, and free of charge. The management was very conscientious in correcting a mistake, at its own initiative, in moving us from a room with poor heating to one with better heating. I still found the thermostat controlling the heat to be clunky, needing to be manually turned on or off as the room temperature changed.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We did have a problem with the TV and remote, but someone came quickly to resolve the issue. The front office staff was friendly and efficient. We were pleased overall with the accommodations for the price paid. The location was within walking distance of lovely shops and restaurants, it's in the Marina District. We would definitely consider staying there again when we visit San Francisco.

We had a very comfortable room that was secure and in a quiet location.
