We stayed at the Alexandria Travelodge in Sept 2009. The carpet was filthy and thin. The room faced a busy street so there was street noise all night. The room was OK, everything worked. Breakfast was absolutely minimal.

Good
This motel was fine. I didn't feel dirty for sleeping in the bed or sitting on a chair. You do get what you pay for meaning that the rooms aren't too roomy, the bathroom has only the basics, and building is older. The only thing I would say against ...
All in all, a great economy place to stay. We stayed for 5 nights, the motel is in a great spot, close to metro. Also pretty close to the waterfront. Managers and employees were all kind and courtious...

50 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel was more than I expected from reading other's reviews and for the cost. The rooms and bedding were clean. The beds were comfortable and the interior was nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel offered parking. Walking to the Metro was a bit of a walk but I managed. I booked thru AARP and got the room for about $94 a night in Mar 08. The hotel is short of fancy, but if you are looking for a low cost, conveniently located to DC metro I give this one thumbs up.
