I'm sitting in this hotel right now, on my last day of a five night trip. All the praises of Affinia's location are correct. It is amazing. All the shopping my girlfriend could have dreamed of and more, are right on Michigan Ave. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance. You can't miss the bar on top of the Hancock building, which is only a few blocks away! We even saw a movie being filmed right on our street.
In terms of the room itself, it was very nice. It was more than acceptable for the price we paid. The hotel is in the midst of renovations, and we were in an older room. I didn't really notice anything wrong with it still. No strange smells, no glaring holes in the walls or carpets. Our room had a very, very nice bathroom that is spacious and has everything you'd need. The staff has been excellent, and I'd suggest going down for a drink and talking to Manny, it's like a free guide to the River North's hotspots.
All in all, if you can find a good deal like I did, I'd take it without hesitation. My girlfriend and I were booked in the Congress, and I thanked my lucky stars every day we were here that we changed hotels to the Affinia. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed, and you can do far, far worse.
