For $209 for two nights including tickets to the science center, aquarium, water taxi use, and ESPN Zone, this hotel fit the bill.
We saw pictures on the website of the rooms having vaulted ceilings and we really liked that. They did upgrade the room from a double bed to a queen size bed for free even though we asked for king and they said it was king.
Positives: Mostly friendly staff. It's historical and "cute", according to the fiancée. It's very close to local Fells Point barhopping and the water taxi dock. It's very affordable if you find a good deal on it through travelhero.com. We had a clean room with a comfortable bed.
Negatives: You have to pay $25 a day for valet parking at the hotel or pay $1 an hour on the meter from 10 am to 8 pm without being in the spot for more than 4 hours at a time or you'll get a fine.
The king size bed room we got was run down and cheaply painted. The room was very small with no refrigerator or microwave. It's far from power plant live area, so you must take cab if you plan to not have to drive. The noise in the morning is rough, and the housekeeping is loud.
You can hear outside of the hotel pretty well, even with window shut.
Final summary: If you are on a budget and just want to be here for Fells Point local barhopping, then this is affordable and okay. If you want to be in the heart of Baltimore, then this is the hotel to pick.
