My wife and I didn't go to San Francisco to spend time on our bed, scanning the room with a magnifying glass, and whining that there's simply not enough channels on the television. We went to San Francisco to EXPERIENCE the city. The location of this hotel is phenomenal. You're in the heart of it all! When you like to walk everywhere and really delve into what makes a city tick, that is absolutely ideal. You can take the train from either airport and be dropped off about four blocks away from the hotel. Bus lines and cable cars are very close as well. Our room was everything we could have hoped it to be. In fact, I was expecting the size to be much like our room in London, but it was quite a bit larger and the bathroom was probably about four times larger. Everything was clean, the bed was nice, we rarely heard any outdoor noise, the modest breakfast of muffins, toast, coffee, and juice really hit the spot. If that's not your cup of tea (oh yeah, they had tea as well), there's a fantastic breakfast spot about 100 paces from the front of the hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful. You have a coffee shop that also serves alcohol connected to the hotel. The only real mishap from the Adante was the fact that the elevator sometimes didn't work. I like to think that we're young enough for that not to matter, but twice it would have been more convenient if it worked. But hey, I think that's a tiny little nitpick in the grand scheme of things. I highly recommend this place to travelers with a budget. If you enjoy paying for all those luxuries that you don't really need at those fancy hotels, go right ahead. I'd rather spend my money on the food and the unique shopping experience. If you're reading this and think that you share similar beliefs in what a vacation SHOULD be, get yourself some comfortable shoes, leave your car at home, and book a room at the Adante. I can't wait to go back!
