Exactly what we wanted! A GREAT DEAL!

My wife and I didn't go to San Francisco to spend time on our bed, scanning the room with a magnifying glass, and whining that there's simply not enough channels on the television. We went to San Francisco to EXPERIENCE the city. The location of this hotel is phenomenal. You're in the heart of it all! When you like to walk everywhere and really delve into what makes a city tick, that is absolutely ideal. You can take the train from either airport and be dropped off about four blocks away from the hotel. Bus lines and cable cars are very close as well. Our room was everything we could have hoped it to be. In fact, I was expecting the size to be much like our room in London, but it was quite a bit larger and the bathroom was probably about four times larger. Everything was clean, the bed was nice, we rarely heard any outdoor noise, the modest breakfast of muffins, toast, coffee, and juice really hit the spot. If that's not your cup of tea (oh yeah, they had tea as well), there's a fantastic breakfast spot about 100 paces from the front of the hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful. You have a coffee shop that also serves alcohol connected to the hotel. The only real mishap from the Adante was the fact that the elevator sometimes didn't work. I like to think that we're young enough for that not to matter, but twice it would have been more convenient if it worked. But hey, I think that's a tiny little nitpick in the grand scheme of things. I highly recommend this place to travelers with a budget. If you enjoy paying for all those luxuries that you don't really need at those fancy hotels, go right ahead. I'd rather spend my money on the food and the unique shopping experience. If you're reading this and think that you share similar beliefs in what a vacation SHOULD be, get yourself some comfortable shoes, leave your car at home, and book a room at the Adante. I can't wait to go back!

The room were very bad condition. Through out my stay they had no heat we felt very cold and uncomfortable. i rather spend more money and get better room then cheap. Keep in mind this is very cheap hotel so you will get cheap stuff. room are very small, no extra tables to put your stuff, bathroom there was no counter. I stay there for 5 days and they had no heat. the extra blanket they had was in very bad condition they were yucky, smelly, i think they were for homeless people. very bad
i read all the review before i choose this hotel but now on i should just spend more money and not to bother with cheap stuff.

Each day we had a different concierge, and they were all very friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side, but the bathroom was huuuge. The heater was on blaze the whole time, and could not be turned down. Must be a ploy to get you to drink the $3 Evian bottles. Continental breakfast was below basic, I mean, who only offers packets of Orange Marmelade, and nothing else?!? Great location (1 mile away from Moscone), but in retrospect, I would have paid more for better accommodations.

The cheesy paintings on the walls were funny conversations topics but that wasn't the only thing laughable thing about this hotel. The elevator felt like it was going to drop out from under us, the bathroom floor was slanted, the room felt like it was 100 degrees, and the continental breakfast was your choice of bread and/or Otis Spunkmeyer muffin. Orange marmalade would have been nice but all we got was grape jelly. It felt as if we were stuck in a strange twilight zone or caught-on-tape episode. Plus they advertised wireless internet but that was only in the Lobby and not in your room. You had to pay for a cable. Talk a about loss of credibility.

Lots of problems

The service at this hotel was horrible!
The room was sweltering; we were told they were experiencing problems with their heating, and it could not be turned down. It was 85 degrees inside, 50 degrees outside, but the window only opened 6 inches. When we woke up the next morning, there was no hot water. Again, we were told there was a problem and they were working on it. After waiting over 2 hours for the problem to be fixed we ended up taking cold showers.
When we checked out I asked if they were offering a discounted rate because of the problems. I was told they could credit us $3 for the Evian water we drank, but that was all. Of all the places to stay in SF, don't stay here!
