AZUL Blue Hotel and Spa Resort - Page 1

This hotel is a beautiful secluded resort! We went there for a very nice destination wedding. There was about 80 people in our group and this was the largest wedding the hotel had every had. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The customer service was fair, for example, they were very willing to help you but it sometimes took too long for them to bring you what you asked for, or they would forget and you would have to remind them! The food was overall just average. There were somethings that were Great!! ex- The sushi!! Then there were somethings that were so bad you couldn't eat them. Stay away from their soups!!! Breakfast was the best meal of the whole day. We stayed at the property for 4 days and 3 nights. On the last night during the wedding reception about 18 of our 32 rooms were broken into. There was an estimated $100,000 stolen between cash and jewels! When the bride confronted the management about the situation she was told she had to prove it and that it was hard for them to believe that this happened to so many of our group. I don't know about you but this is the last thing I would want to deal with on my wedding night! The bride, groom, both sets of parents and the travel agent were up until about 5am trying to handle the situation. It was horrible they offered no apologies or comfort. They would not allow the police to come until the morning. It was really an aweful situation. Our room was one of the few that was not broken into but many of our close friends including my best friend, the bride, had $2500 in cash (their honeymoon money) and their expensive (rolex) watch stolen. This was our experience hope this helps you make an informed desicion before going to this resort!!! There are many other hotels that are this nice in the Mayan Riviera. My suggestion is any of the Palace Resorts!
