Good
The 7 Gables Inn is located in a residential area of Fairbanks. You enter through an interesting two story solar room with lovely plants blooming even in September in Alaska. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms large, with Jacuzzi tubs. (Be...

65 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
We never actually stayed at the 7 Gables because when we got there, the owner diverted us to another of his properties at a different location. We had reserved a two-room suite with king bed, jacuzzi, etc. What we found at the other location was something completely different - a run-down little building in an overgrown yard next to a rusted out mobile home. Inside, the cramped unit reeked of cigarette smoke, had filthy carpet, mismatched furniture, and sloppily-made beds. The floor plan was completely different from the unit we had reserved. We called him immediately and told him we would not accept the unit.
In reply, he told us matter of factly that we'd have trouble finding anything else as it was already after 6:00 p.m. Then he told us he had given away our reservation (made 6 months earlier) to another customer (the U.S. military) who was willing to pay him a lot more per unit. When we objected, he said, "Money talks!"
We have travelled a great deal and had never before had our reservation given away. We have never encountered an owner who was so blatantly unethical in his dealings with customers. We advise that travelers avoid this place at all cost.

Horrible
This place was horrible, Its a Bed and Breakfast at best. rooms are very stuffy and uncomfortable. Wife said bathroom was despratly in need of a good cleaning, towels looked to have stains on them. No AC, only climate control was a rinky dink fan....
We were pleased at the low price of this *cough* B&B, but as they say, you get what you pay for! Breakfast? - go to Denny's, don't eat here! Don't go by the 'accommodation's' page on their website, you don't get...
As with most places in Alaska during the summer, the cost was up from the rest of the year. However, the value received was good. The owners were very friendly and the room was more than adequate. We arrived at 1:30 am and they were there to meet...
February 2006- After reading the previous reviews, I was leery of staying at 7 gables, but it was too late to change our reservations. After our visit, I'm so glad we didn't. The 7 Gables Inn is in a great location on the west side of town....
