This is a wonderful historic hotel however realize the 4 star cost per room is for the history and charm of the hotel not a 4 star quality room. Rooms are comfortable & clean but small and what you would expect in a budget hotel; bathrooms are best ...

Horrible
The food was good at breakfast and the grounds are lovely. Great location BUT definitely stay elsewhere. We booked 3 nights (at $200 a night). I am used to paying $200 for a room, so that sounded fine over the phone and after looking at the web...

57 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I know it is an old hotel, but it is just plain depressing. The room was drab, the shower went from hot to cold and could not be adjusted. Our shower rod fell off the wall, the coffee maker was broken. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. The restaurant food was expensive and not as good as Outback. We could not wait to leave. The exterior is nice, the grounds well maintained. Stay somewhere else and walk up to see it. (The secondary escape in case of fire is a 4 story straight metal ladder).
