The Island Manor House, built in 1848 was the grand home of Nathaniel Smith, the island's first doctor, who tended troops here during the Civil War. Beautifully restored in the federal style, the inn offers eight lovely air conditioned guestrooms, six with private baths, furnished with antiques to provide a warm and comfortable ambiance. Noteworthy are the Garden Room where guests relax by the fireplace amid collections of antiques, fine art and the brick courtyard with fountain.
