I stayed here 3 years ago for my wedding night. I paid $189 for the smallest room they had. They upgraded us to room 2706 the suite of the stars. 2BR/2BR with sauna and jacuzzi, wrap around baloney. Couldn't ask for a better wedding night hotel.

Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Cons: Low water pressure. Somewhat tired building and interior. No morning paper delivery. Not much surface area in the bath area to put your stuff.

Just as most other reviews state, the location is great. So close to 5th Avenue Shopping, Times Square, Central Park, MOMA, and Rockefeller Center. We had a delux room with a king size bed which was super comfy. The bathroom was really nice and clean. The elevator situation isn't that bad, but there are 3 and each only holds 5 people. At some times it was hard to catch an elevator going down that had room for us, so we took the stairs (from 10th floor). Might be worth staying on the lower floors so that can be an option. It was super cold out while we were there but we never had to touch the thermostat once, which I found amazing. The room was just always the perfect temperature. My only complaint is that we paid more for a room with an exterior window, and we ended up facing the other side of the Warwick and didn't have a view at all. That was kinda disappointing. Our shuttle stood us up on our trip back to the hotel but the concierage jumped on it and got us a new shuttle that arrived in 15 minutes. Worked out great.

The Warwick is a lovely hotel on the corner of 54th and 6th. The staff starting at the front desk to the bellmen and the housekeeping staff were absolutely wonderful. They were never too busy to assist with directions, dining or subway suggestions. Everytime we returned to our hotel we were greeted with a warm welcome. It was like coming home. It is a small hotel but has all the amenties of the larger chains without the extra charges. The location is great for walking. Just one block from 5th at Tiffany's, three blocks to Radio City and Rockefeller Center. In the other direction, an easy walk to Time Square. There are 2 restaurants at the hotel, however we were never there long enough to eat. However, both menus looked delicious. They do offer 24 hr. room service. The only negative was there was not a vent in the bathroom so it was a little steamy. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel. This is my 3rd trip to NYC. If I ever return, I'll book the Warwick again.

Minuses:
We booked (and paid for) a king size bed but had to request it when issued a room with a queen.
Breakfast was a shocker. Almost $70 bucks for two. Whoa! By the way, an automatic 15% gratity was added (before earned). We think service would have been better, if the customer added the tip. The next two mornings we had breakfast at Certi's (on 55th right arounnd the corner). I think Certi's is one of NYC best kept secrets.
Pluses:
Great location and room. Just a few blocks away from all the activities. The hotel amentities were great, as well as the hotel staff. Didn't know that Cary Grant lived at the Warwick for 12 plus years.

Worth It

I don´t think that there is another hotel in NY that gives you such a big room for no more than 400$. Excellent service, its a bit old but no decadence but stylish. Perfect situation, just one block from the subway to dowtown, to 5th avenue, 4 blocks from times square and central park.

Without a doubt I would come back to this hotel.

Lived Up To It's 4-Star Rating

My 3-night stay at the New York Warwick was far and above my expectations, and I am a skeptic. This 83-year old hotel is beautifully decorated in the period in which it was first built, including mahogony furniture and marble bathroom, elegant draperies and sculpted carpet.
The housekeeping was also more than I expected. After a day of touring Manhattan the room was as fresh as the day I arrived, and there were always plenty of large towels in the bathroom.

All of the plumbing worked perfectly, and the air-conditioner, which I controlled, quietly did its job. One of my worries was the possibility of insects since it is an old building, but I am happy to say that there was not one single incident of an uninvited visitor. This, in my opinion, was due to the cleanliness of the room.

The only problem that I encountered was connection difficulty via the wireless high-speed internet. This occured on two occasions on two seperate days, however, the front desk graciously allowed me access to their computer without question for as long as I needed. Besides this, the front desk employees were always very friendly and helpful, as was the doorman. I cannot recall a single incident that would warrant a negative note during my stay. I will be a repeat customer.

My son and I went to NY to see the Yankees play in their final year in Yankee Stadium. The Warwick Hotel made the trip a perfect 10!!!! Best hotel bed I have ever slept in. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Any info we needed, they were there to help. The place was immaculate and the breakfast at Murals was excellent. Easy walking distance to most everything we were interested in seeing. Although our schedule was tight, we were able to get it all in because of the great location and the superb staff. Definitely going back and we will stay at The Warwick!!!!
