Although the room decor was old and outdated, that is not what concerns me. There was urine and feces stains by the toilet, a candy bar wrapper under the bed, a t-shirt sticker on the side of the night stand. Plus the dresser was scratched all away around and the bathroom door had several holes in it, poorly repaired. My husband went to the restaurant inside the casino to get food to take to our room because our daughter did not feel well. They would not honor the "special" price unless he sat down, ordered it first and then asked for "to go" boxes. We went in August 2009 Poolview room and we loved it! Pool was great, check in was fast and accomodating, I locked myself out of the room and Security was there in an instant! Upon our arrival ,they wouldn't give it to us because it wasn't noted on our reservation. We called the supervisor on the house phone and was told too bad. We told them we wouldn't stay there again and they replied OK. We have had reservations there before and they could not find it upon our arrival even though we had a confirmation. Desk help has a bad attitude also. One time I showed up at 3am, and the parking lot was empty. Upon trying to register I was told the hotel was sold out. No where on the billboards did they state "with reservation or as available" The desk clerk told me they "raise" the rates as the rooms become occupied. Other issues: I requested a specific building to be near the pool, the clerk put me in a room on the reverse side of the pool, I had to go back to registration and get a new room, the air conditioner temperature was preset at 69*, I spent the night waking up in pools of sweat, the casino itself was dingy and uninviting, the person seating at the restaurant ignored patrons waiting to be seated and the pool area is littered with debris from the palm trees. While I will say the room was very clean, especially the bathroom, it had the most dilapidated furnishings I think I've ever seen. Very worn-out furniture, nasty old pictures and drapes that practically had holes worn in them. The casino was extremely smoky (where is the ventilation system?) and the restaurant food was really terrible. I left something of sentimental value at this hotel and housekeeping would not return it. As far as I'm concerned they are thieves.. I even talked to the manager of the hotel and received no satisfaction. Have they changed?
