I was nervous to stay here after reading a couple reviews of the motel. And I have to say I don't know what those people are talking about! It is an older building and so are the appliances, but who cares what color the toliet is! I checked high and low to see if it was dirty. And the only thing I found was that the back of the couch could have been brushed off, minor detail. It is a GREAT location! Walgreens is right acrossed the street, and safeway is a block over. A couple blocks up and you can catch the express metro to get downtown. My favorite part was eating at Tibet First, which is two houses down. We'll definitely stay here again!

Very reasonably priced with a good location and a helpful staff. What more can you ask for? Rooms were large with all the necessary utensils.

Not a typical hotel, but great anyway

The room I had was more like a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. It was very clean and nice, but took a bit to get used to since I’m used to more traditional hotels.

The motel is right next to the university and in perfect walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and all university buildings. I was never able to get the wireless working and the maid service was slow. My room wasn't done until close to 4 pm one day. Other than that, the price was great and the staff was very friendly.

A great little place.

Loved the place. I chose to stay at the University Motel Suites because of the reviews. I have two children and needed a suite with multiple rooms. The rooms were extremly clean and the housekeepers were helpful. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful with directions to the zoo and several places downtown. I would recomend anyone with a family who needs a large suite to stay. Also the WiFi was a great bonus.

Finally, a great deal

I took my family here in October and was very happy with the place. The suite was huge. It was equipped with three queen beds and still had a lot of space to spare. It had a full kitchen. My wife was happy that we did not have to eat out every night. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful with directions to different sites downtown. When we come back in March we will be staying here again.

great value, great location

This is the place to stay in Seattle if you want somewhere inexpensive and not cluttered with too many tourists! In fact, we were asked why we were on the bus heading for the U district!

I would recommend this clean, small motel to anyone with a family. The full kitchen and dining room is great and it's proximity to Safeway couldn't be much better! The "suite" aspect of the rooms is what drew us here... kids in one room and you don't have to tip toe around!

Clean, Convenient, Economical

This motel is really a converted apartment building. Every "room" is a one-bedroom size apartment. It's old (tourquoise appliances, pink bathtub, etc), but it is as clean as a brand new place. There's everything you need to make your stay economical and comfortable. There's a grocery store (and anything else you can think of) just a block or so away, (drug store, post office, movie theater, public transportation, University bookstore, library, churches). Just blocks from the 5 freeway and a couple of exits north of downtown Seattle. (Advice - leave the car in the garage at the hotel and take public transportation to get around Seattle - there's no street parking anywhere and public parking is EXPENSIVE) But, the buses are easy to take and run every few minutes and all within easy walking distance from the motel). There are some wonderful neighborhood restaurants just in the immediate area (Cedars really across the street is a terrific middle eastern restaurant). It's the Univesity District - so college kids are everywhere. Wonderful Saturday market. I highly recommend the motel - it's the perfect solution for families. Don't let the look of this neighborhood in transition scare you away - it's wonderful.

It really helped me out

I am moving in from PA and I really needed a place to stay until my stuff came in from PA. They provided a great value, a kitchen, livingroom, bedroom for ~400 a week. Not bad in comparison the chain hotels are at least 500 and I stayed at one that was ~300 a week for 1 day and it was horrible.

If you need to stay at a place for more than 3 days, this is a great value.
