The rooms we extreamly comfortable. All staff were very helpful. Our 1st room was in the area where pets are allowed to stay. This was not a problem for me but my husband preferred a no-barking zone. We were moved immeadiately and with a smile. The ferry into Universal Studios ran all the time, we rarely had to wait, and this was a huge plus. Not having to park in a huge lot and make the trek in made the trip perfect. Another fantastic bonus was the fact that our room keys were our express passes. We got on all rides in no more than 12 minutes...usually we waited less than 5. These can also be used to get into restaurants more quickly. There are hundreds of places you can stay in Orlando that will cost you less. I know we've done it. I will never stay anywhere else again. My only complaint is the fact that it costs $* a day to use the gym. Hotel was beautiful, staff was attentive, polite and prompt. Rooms were amazing. Had a two bed non-smoking room on first floor. Pool area is very nice, they even showed a movie at night and you could watch it while in the pool. The pool was unique because they had a volleyball net and basketball hoop in the pool for some fun. Location is A+. If you plan on spending some time at Universal/Islands of Adventure staying here is key. Parks are 5 min boat ride away. Citywalk has many dining options and staying here gets you preferred seating at some restaurants, including Hard Rock. Walked back from Citywalk to hotel at night and there was plenty of security. The staff was extremely helpful, especially the Valet Parking Attendents. They worked quickly and always asked if I needed assistance with directions. The rooms were well maintained, thanks housekeeping, and we had an excellent view of the Universal theme parks, including the evening fireworks show. The Hotel's decor reminds one of the Pacific Islands and the atrium was beautiful. The hotel provides shuttle service to the Universal attractions by way of bus or Water Taxi. If you're traveling in the summer I would recommend the Water Taxi in the mornings and night and the bus during the warmest (HOT) portions of the day. The staff were well trained and very good at making us feel welcome and comfortable. Fantastic value for a Florida Resident. Loved the decor, the food was amazing. The atmosphere and landscaping was out of this world. Access to the parks is convenient and the room key fast access is WOW! I would have given this resort a perfect ten for friendliness and helpfulness of staff, 10 for the food, 10 for the cleanliness, and a 6 for the televisions in the room. Would be nice to have an upgraded television like you are used to at home. At least a flat screen, I missed my high definition.
