Hotel was clean and comfortable. Posted rates are a scam! Charged $13.00-$16.00 per minute for use of phone. Supposed to have internet in the room, could not connect, was charged $6.50 for 15 minute sessions on their computer. Drinks, food, beach chair rentals were never the same price. Drink @ the bar was $7.50 1/2 hour later price went to $12.50 Beach chair rental was clearly posted as $10.00 charged $24.00 I did not receive a "comp card" at check in (I had never been there and did not know to ask for it) since I didn't get it at check in that meant that I lost "comps" which included the coffee and danish breakfast from starbucks. I did not get comp card until 4th day of 5 day visit. Most of the employees that I saw were severly lacking in how to speak the english language! Almost forgot, when checking room rates don't forget to add $5.00 nightly for occupancy (that is correct for occupancy! you see they charge you an additional $5.00 if you actual intend to occupy the room that you rent) plus a $5.00 nightly resort fee. Would have been happier to pay higher price room charge and not feel ripped off. Overall I got the impression their motto is "we know you aren't coming back let us get what we can now"

My boyfriend and I just got back from a 3 day stay the the Tropicana in Atlantic City. We stayed in the West tower. Overall our experience was OK, could use a few improvements. The smell of cigarette some was EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE. The lo

We generally go to the Trop twice a year in Feb to celebrate our birthdays. This time my husband had to work the boat show, so we stayed 3 nghts comped here, then went to Trump Marina for 3 more nights (also comped). I found the rooms and casino t

This hotel was very nice...staff were friendly...room was clean...the shops were convenient and fun to browse thru....Adam Good Deli was our favorite, as they had very reasonably-priced items, and were open from early A.M., until late P.M.. There were occasional hallway noises, and doors opening shutting, but not bad. You all know what I'm talking about. (NOTE: If there are any inventors / entrepeneurs out there who can invent a SILENT DOOR-CLOSING system, you will make MILLIONS !!!!!...)

While the room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and nice sunset view, the location to the gym (extra fee for use) and pool (nothing fancy) was inconvienent. The staff was not helpful and was curt-no explanation of the diamond club (tracks your gaming) and not a good parking experience. The casino was fine but we would stay someplace else next time.

2nd trip to tropicana in 6 months and again everything went smoothly. check-in was a breeze- no line- no hassle (it was january and the place was empty) i was in the north tower (the original tower) and like the west tower the room was big enough and more importantly clean. the beds are fabulous. there was a fridge in the cabinet as well as coffee. the room was made up quickly. the coffee shop food was good and the service was far better than the last time. in the wintertime location is an issue since its too cold to walk to other hotels on the boardwalk, but we valet our car and it was delivered quickly (no charge to hotel guests). i still dont underatand why there is no security at the elevators to check keys. all in all though tropicana has it all for an incredibly low price

The Tropicana casino is probably our favorite in Atlantic City. Although many of its games are similar to those in other casinos, we thought that the games at the Tropicana were the funnest.

The Tropicana also has a spa, restaurants, shops, and entertainment such as a comedy club and theater. I wish that it had more shows. We ended up watching a movie at the IMax theater, which had a large screen and plenty of seating but showed only a couple of movies. The couple dozen shops were OK, but we didn't buy anything in them because some of them you could find in a typical mall.

The Tropicana is on the boardwalk so you can easily walk on the beach.

We did not stay at the Tropicana hotel, so I cannot comment on the hotel at all. See the other reviews for that information.

Drop off your luggage and companion

Drop off your luggage and companion first at registration, then park. Note your lot and location in writing. Registration was smooth, tho no freebies for us. Walked 15 minutes to our room on 6th floor of north tower (had a view of our car - but it still took 20 minutes to get to it). Room decent with a comfortable chair, average hotel size, cracked granite sink. Heavy metal doors banged most of the night. Check out Italian restaurant and Lennox 3 blocks from from hotel on Baltic great for B,L, and D - 60% off hotel prices. If you can play poker for 4 hours, reserve your room thru the poker room and get it cheaper. Newbies should get a loyalty card and we received $10 for gambling and free {$5} parking. We lost our car in the parking lot (30 feet from the entrace ) and security eventully helped us find it - 45 minutes. A decent value for the money.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, but the restaurant options were limited - one had two choices of either eating at an overpriced restaurant or eating at a below average restaurant. There was nothing like a good value restaurant which was disappointing. Also the waiters would not give us time to read our menus and one of them at the Palm restaurant even offered us to leave if we thought we could not afford the meal, which was highly insulting since we were taking our time trying to decide what wine to order.
Also internet cost $10 for 24 hours and it was so slow that the show we were trying to watch online rebooted every 3 minutes because the connection kept stalling.
The rooms do not have a coffee maker, which I found quite odd.
