I stay at the Wynfrey both on business trips and for personal getaways. The staff are excellent. Rooms are very nice and clean. Food at Shulas is some of the best you will ever have. I love the cigar bar. The Riverchase Galleria is connected so my wife always has plenty to do. I can shop also or just relax in the room or the bar. Stay on the club level if possible. Continential breakfast in the mornings and appetizers in the evening. Drinks are only $1.00!

The beds are very comfortable. They have a Friday nite all you can eat seafood buffet that is awsome, and after you finish eating you can go shopping at the mall!

It was noisy and the staff was spotty in how it attended to things. Overpriced. I've stayed in better Best Western motels. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Not worth it

My mother, sister and I stayed at The Wynfrey on Thanksgiving night so that we would be sure to have the best location for the big Day after Thanksgiving sales. The location is excellent, it attaches directly to the Galleria, which is great for shopping. The room however, was very disappointing. We thought for $200 (including $9 to park) a night it would be a very nice hotel room, but it was nothing more than your average hotel room with bad art and questionable sheets. They didn't even have down comforters, which is becoming a staple in many hotels. Also, there is only one vending machine for the whole hotel, and it is on the 4th floor. I guess they try and get you to buy everything out of the overpriced mini bar. Overall, I will find another hotel to stay in the next time I am in Birmingham.

Not Worth The Money

I stayed here for a business conference and was not at all impressed considering the room was $250 per night. I've stayed in bigger rooms that cost $150 less at other hotel chains. Plus, the front desk screwed up my bill and I ended up getting charged for my room plus a co-workers. Several calls failed to clear this up and I am still waiting to get the money credited back to my account. I expected the employees to be much more thorough and professional than this!

first come first serve

We arrived on a Friday afternoon with what we thought to be reservations. We were told that "these are not guaranteed reservations, it is first come first serve!" We were assigned a room, which had someone elses name on it, not on the confirmed floor (Chancellors Club). When questioned the reply was "when we are in an overbooked situation, it's first come, first served, even with a confirmed reservation number."
We will not have this problem in the future, because we will never be back, never recommend this hotel, and be glad to tell everyone we meet in our business how we were treated!

Stay was nice but, a bit overpriced. One major problem was the smell in the hallways. They must have used some very strong cleaning solutions that made my wife quite ill and and bothered me some too. Pretty much messed up our trip.

The mall and jazz bar.The room was a smoking room.“Stayed here many time before. I was told I had asked for a smoking room which I had not. There were no other rooms available. The entire floor reeked for smoke. It was awful. At checkout the next morning, a man was very early and they offered him a non-smoking handicapped room. Obviously, it was available the night before it just wasn't offered to us.”
