Once with just my wife (for 3 days) and when we brought the kids (1 day). Both times were excellent. The staff is helpful but not annoying. They catch your eye when you need something, but otherwise leave you alone. The food at the pool is great and we had dinner here one evening. The multiple pools and slide are great attractions. Have breakfast outside so you can watch sunrise on the Catalinas. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the views phenomenal. It can be expensive, but off season they take some special rates - such as government and military - a bit over per diem. We paid less than half the rack rate. Stay here. It is worth it. Just remember it can be a bit of a walk to the pool and restaurants from your room. The grounds are absolutely amazing, done in desert fauna. The rooms are rustic and southwest style. The have a wonderful pool with a slide. Their on-site restaurant had a wonderful lunch menu. Although, higher priced, but good food and drinks. The pool area is very spacious and has a nice swim up bar. The rooms have older furniture and we found a roach crawling across the floor in the middle of the night.
