A very nice hotel with luxurious appointments. Because it is located adjacent to an indoor mall with inexpensive restaurants, it was an affordable place to stay inspite of a very pricey restaurant on the premises. They charge for wireless access which is often free in most less expensive hotels.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night on 28-29 November 2008.
We never slept all night long. There was a lot of noise from other rooms. It was 3:30 AM in the morning there were still laughing, screaming, talking noise. We called front desk to warn those noisy people (I think they were around 100 or more people) but couldn't get any result. Next morning as we were checking out I complaint about our terrible night to the manager on duty. She listened to me without any apology and said "Thank you". The manager was the most clueless hotel employee I have ever seen.

pros: LocationI was referred by a few people to stay in this particular Westin. the Facility was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The vallet were all helpful and nice. When it came to all the other people in the hotel, it was a nightmare- the front deskmen were snooty and arrogant and the customer service was the worst i have ever experienced in my entire life.\ I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Horrible Experience

I'm from Austin and planned on a trip to Dallas for a Radiohead show. I was recommended to the Westin and got a great deal off of Hotwire. Arriving there I received excellent service from the valet guys, but as I got inside to check in the respect button was turned off. The men and especially women working the front desk treated me as if I were bothering them. I let it all go until time of checkout. Now keep in mind that I was at a RADIOHEAD concert that included sitting on the grass surrounded by people chain smoking multiple things. I smelled horrible after the concert. I was told at the time of check out that I was going to be charged $200 for a smoking fee and that there was reported smoke coming from underneath my room.? I tried to explain that my clothes were the problem but they did not care for a second and became very dramatic in the explanation of the condition of the room. I'm now having to fight this $200 charge and deal with the Westin US reps. I do NOT recommend ever staying here. And if there was smoke coming out from underneath my room door I would hope and expect that the hotel staff would call the fire department or try to see what could have possibly been burning had there actually been smoke coming from underneath the door. hmmm....

Never Again

I stayed for one, although the bed was nice, I will never again stay there. The staff was not nice, they could find my reservation, may be because they spelled my name wrong. Everything was OVERPRICED......24 hours room service is a lie. Then 2 weeks later I get this 23.00 charge on my credit card they claim is for parking......if I am going to pay that much for a room, the parking should be included. When we came back in the night after an event, the front lobby was filled with young gangster like people and there cars all playing loud boom box music. It was not a classy thing to see. Never Again.

great romantic getaway

The hotel is pretty & the rooms are very nice. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I was a little unhappy with the parking (self parking did not have in/out privleges, even at $12 a day.) Valet worked out ok, though. It was $22 a day, but they didn't charge us for the day we checked out & you can go in/out with no extra charge. There is not a lot to do within walking distance, but there are lots of nice restaurants within a short drive of the hotel. I would definately bring my own drinks & snacks, though. No vending machines, only a mini bar (2.50 for a can a soda?!!). All in all, we had a very nice stay.

Great Location - Heavenly Bed

Great downtown location. Parking garage not very convenient, small bath and too much noise from skating rink (at/below lobby level). My wife and I stayed on 3rd floor with window facing skating rink. Next time we will ask for a room on higher floor and facing street. The heavenly bed was indeed heavenly and room service was fast and excellent. Small bathroom.

We stayed at the Westin to be near a famioly member undergoing a medical procedure at Bayor Medical Center. The proximity to the hospital was great and the ice skaiting was a plus for our family. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we truly enojyed our stay.

Westin City Center- major disappointment

This hotel is overpriced due to the serious lack of creature comforts that you can get in any other hotel.

First off, the Galleria area, with the shops and restaurants closes at 5 during the week, and most of the places aren't even open on the weekends! Good luck getting anything to eat, unless you are willing to pay astronomical prices at the 650 restaurant inside the hotel.

Second, there isn't a single vending machine in the whole place. So no snacks, nothing to drink etc. Unless you want to pay 4.50 for the bottles of water, conveniently tucked in your room at the mini bar. I have never paid 4.50 for a bottle of water, and never will. My friends and I had to find a drug store in the area to buy things to drink and not get our wallets raped.

Third, expensive Wi-Fi. At these nightly rates, I would expect FREE Wi-Fi.

Fourth, they don't tell you about the $12/day to park in th adjacent garage until you show up and pull in to park.

Fifth, those beds..while they look comfy me and my two friends ALL woke up with backaches, and I am the only one out of the three of us with a bad back.

Sixth, when they changed our sheets one of my friends was given sheets with bloodspatters on it. Not cool at all. Hence the 2 star rating for cleanliness.

Are there any pluses to this place? Yes! The shower is divine. But really, that's about it. If you have to be downtown, then maybe this is what you want. But if you don't mind driving a little ways, I would highly recommend the La Quinta in Addison for a MUCH better, cheaper stay. I know the LaQuinta doesn't compare to the Westin, but in this case..it surpasses this Westin.
