The valet parking area must have been near a construction zone and my brand new $75k car came back with cement dust coating the entire outside and cementy footprints and scuffs inside. Cement dust scratches paint no matter how delicately you try to wash it off. The staff wasn't keeping up with the messes in the front veranda outdoor table area, which resulted in dirty tables with used beverage glasses, tons of cigarettes on the marble flooring, and an overwhelming ashtray smell. However, in their defense, they PROMPTLY bussed the tables when I asked them to. The diligent street beggars were not hustled away and approached guests on the front veranda frequently, which was very uncomfortable. On a good note, the room was clean and well appointed but the water pressure in the shower was AWFUL, barely to be called a "dribble". Overall, I expected more from a 5-star hotel with their reputation, but we could have just been there on an "off" night.
