      <title>my first words when I went to this</title>
      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443765</link>
      <description>my first words when I went to this hotel was wow I couldnt believe how beautiful this place was, this was the place that ever since I was a little boy I always wanted to see Sigfried and Roy perform and now I had my chance.&#xD;
The mirage is such a beautiful place that i guarantee you, whatever you look at on tv whether its a commercial advertisement or a regular  program I guarantee you that they will show at least a glimpse of the mirage in every t.v. show that i have seen that had anything to do with Las Vegas they always showed the mirage and i always wondered why?&#xD;
Well now I know its simply the best hotel/casino in all of Las Vegas.&#xD;
The minute you step into the casino they have two White bengal Tigers,in a huge room wwith a waterfall it is beautiful. And than about twenty paces down u hit the casino,and I can tell you its one of the best casino's in all of Las Vegas.&#xD;
Like all vegas Hotels its got great performances that go on every night great bars and great buffets, the only problem is the price but thean again I cant think of any way better than to spend my money here because you know you will be well taken care of, and you know youll be comfortable.&#xD;
If you dont have the money than go to a cheaper hotel, but if you have the money and you want to enjoy yourself than this is the place to be.&#xD;
&#xD;
Have fun&#xD;

      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443773</link>
      <description>If you are thinking about going to Las Vegas but you need a great hotel to stay in pick the Mirage. I visited the Mirage in the summer and had a great time. There is a little arcade for kids and an awesome casino for adults.&#xD;
&#xD;
 The pool is for all people. There are water slides so the kids won't bother you and also a waterfall that is fun to walk under. You can let the kids walk around and go in the room alone.&#xD;
&#xD;
 There is a place inside that has white tigers and is a good place to see a real live creature without the heat killing you. There is also a place out side that has dolphins and elephants. It is a good place to see different kinds of animals and an awesome place to start getting used to the hot hot weather.&#xD;
&#xD;
 The Mirage is close to many different hotels such as Treasure Island. Another fun hotel for kids is Circus Circus. It has an indoor amusement park, with a lot of cool rides and games.&#xD;
&#xD;
 So visit the Mirage on your vacation and have a nice relaxing fun time.

      <title>I have been vacationing in Las Vegas</title>
      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443774</link>
      <description>I have been vacationing in Las Vegas for 15 years now.  I have stayed at many different resorts.  Even some of the very new massive resorts.  &#xD;
I have always loved the beautiful waterfalls and lagoons outside the resort and especially the snow white tiger exhibit walking into the lobby. I thought that this year I would vacation at the Mirage resort. I was there for only 2 short days and I wish I had another 2 days. The service was nothing like I have ever encountered at any other hotel. This was the first time ever in Las Vegas where I was addressed by name. They give such special personal attention to each and every guest; I was absolutely amazed. The restaurants at the Mirage are pricey but these days no matter where you go in Las Vegas dining is getting to be very expensive. I would highly recommend the Italian restaurant Onda. About a $100.00 tab for two and a extraordinary dining experience. Once, again impeccable service with lots of smiles and very cozy atmosphere.

      <title>I could sum this up in two words, FIRST</title>
      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443736</link>
      <description>I could sum this up in two words, FIRST CLASS! Then you probably wouldn't us the Mirage when you go to Vegas. There is valet parking, limousine and bus service to and from the Mirage Hotel.  Pull right up to the front door a number of service people are waiting to help you. Upon entering there will be a large aquarium, It is beautiful.  Shiny wood floors, greenery, brass, fountains and palm trees everywhere.&#xD;
&#xD;
Everyone is treated like they are someone special.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Mirage has special prices on certain days of the year and for large groups. It is recommended you call or check them out on the internet so, you get the most for your money.&#xD;
&#xD;
Right outside the front doors is an erupting volcano it is best to view this in the evening.  Just breath taking.   &#xD;
&#xD;
It was a little loud when we entered the Mirage, if that is a problem, just walk around the corner, there are quiet areas where you can eat, drink and have conversation.&#xD;
&#xD;
Check-in looked like it might take a while, there were people all over the place, but, it didn't.  The bell hop was there and took our luggage to the room.  The staff moved quickly and efficiently.&#xD;
&#xD;
The hallways to the rooms are a little confusing, there are many forks in the road and it is easy to loose your way.  The wallpaper combined with the hall lighting really does a number on your eyes.  Once on the floor were the rooms are it seems deserted compared to the main floor.&#xD;
&#xD;
The rooms are luxurious, living room, dinning, 2 queen beds all with royal colors and very plush.      &#xD;
&#xD;
There are elevator attendants and shoe shine boys.&#xD;
&#xD;
There is a spa/salon, gambling and music, fine dinning or have pizza.  Depending where you are in the hotel the atmosphere changes from loud, laughter and music to romantic and soothing by literally just turning the corner.&#xD;
&#xD;
Everything is at your fingertips!  You really could just stay at the Mirage Hotel and not want for anything.&#xD;
&#xD;
The line of gift shops range from jewelry, fine dinning clothes to stuffed animals and T-shirts to a drug store. An infant sweat shirt will cost about 25.00.  &#xD;
&#xD;
Stop at the customer service desk and join the Mirage Club and rack up the points.            &#xD;
&#xD;
Planning your vacation ahead of time is best if planning to see a few good shows.  Most will be sold out quickly.  If not check with the concierge regarding shows and special attractions. No wondering around looking for something to do, they have all the information you will need.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Siegfried and Roy show is at the Mirage the tickets start at 89.00.  It is the best!  They have a white tiger exhibit walk through outside.&#xD;
&#xD;
It is an excellent place to stay. I would recommend this hotel for romantics first and all who really want to live it up.

      <title>In planning our vacation to Las Vegas,</title>
      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443713</link>
      <description>In planning our vacation to Las Vegas, my brother and I were primarily motivated by one factor: we wanted to stay at one of the 3 resorts (Mirage, Treasure Island, or Bellagio) that would allow us to purchase Cirque du Soleil tickets well in advance of the show.  This, in itself, was a great perk for 2 "cirqueophiles", as priority ticket sales allowed us very nice seats for the Bellagio/Cirque du Soleil spectacle, "O".  Between shows, casinos, buffets, and the like, we were able to catch some R&amp;R in this enjoyable hotel!&#xD;
&#xD;
DECOR and ENVIRONMENT&#xD;
David (my brother) and I had spent close to an hour in our shuttle bus driving in from the airport.  Though we were fatigued, our eyes lit up as we spied our resort!  A fantastic volcano welcomes guests by exploding every hour (this is particularly beautiful at night).  Walking through the front doors, one is instantly drawn to the "rain forest", which is the general theme for the resort.  50-foot palm trees 300 orchids make serene the foyer towered by a 100-foot dome.  Cascading waterfalls enhance the atmosphere with the semi-turbulent sounds heard throughout the ground floor.  Sometimes, the white tigers from Siegfried and Roy's production are on display in a windowed habitat in the main hotel building.  Unfortunately, like most hotels in Las Vegas, one transverse the smoke-laden casino areas en route to their rooms or dining areas.  These pathways are often on the crowded side.&#xD;
&#xD;
RECREATION&#xD;
The Mirage offers one of the nicest pool areas I have ever seen; these pools compare well with those of Disney World Resort pools.  The pools are long and curvy, passing by waterfalls and slides.  The water temperature is maintained at a comfortably warm level, and the water is shallow and appropriate for beginning-level swimmers.  The pools also circle around lawns of deck chairs and a cafe beneath a canopy.  There is enough pool and deck space;these areas never seems overcrowded.&#xD;
&#xD;
Mirage also offers gender-separated spas.  Spa access is $20/day.  Access includes use of weights and cardio machines, indoor spa pools, juice bar, etc.  Spa access fees are included in the price of select treatments, such as massage(Source: www.mirage.com).&#xD;
&#xD;
ANIMAL HABITATS&#xD;
The Mirage is home to marine research, particularly research involving dolphins.  Several dolphins are housed in the dolphin habitat, featuring 4 connected pools with sandy bottoms.  Guests on a guided tour can place themselves within a few feet of these "ham" dolphins, who love to swim to shallower areas of the pool for the entertainment of guests!  One can also see the dolphins interact by watching through transparent underwater panels.  Most interesting to me was the video of a dolphin being born at the Mirage habitat.  &#xD;
&#xD;
Adjacent to the dolphin habitat is the white tiger habitat.  The featured stars of this attraction are also appearing in Siegfried and Roy's show.  Also in the habitat are traditional tigers and lions, white lions, and other African animals.  These are magnificent specimen, folks, very beautiful indeed.  &#xD;
&#xD;
One price (I believe in the vicinity of $12) buys admission to both habitats.  Though it may seem pricey, it buys you a couple of hours of quality educational entertainment.  Which, by Vegas standards, is a bargain.&#xD;
&#xD;
ROOMS and RATES&#xD;
Traditional rooms are fairly spacious and well-maintained.  Noise level is kept at a minimum; rooms seem to be well-protected from Strip sounds.  Yes, the view from many of the rooms is lousy, facing Vegas backlots and alleys...but you won't be spending much time peering our of windows anyway.  Bathrooms are very clean and the bathrooms are large.  &#xD;
&#xD;
Rooms typically run in the low $100's...but check the website frequently.  With specials, you can often get rates of less than $70, even on weekends.  This is especially true during the hot Vegas summer.&#xD;
&#xD;
Incidentally, I would like to mention that during our stays, check-in and check-out were hassle-free processes.  Lines and waits were short, and staff were friendly and helpful.  Acquiring extra room keys and storing our luggage on the ground floor while waiting for check in were not problematic.&#xD;
&#xD;
Have a great time in Las Vegas, folks! And don't forget to buy those tickets to "O" and "Mystere" ahead of time.

      <title>I have been lucky enough to travel to</title>
      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443704</link>
      <description>I have been lucky enough to travel to Las Vegas many times.  My husband worked for a company that had a lot of business meetings in Las Vegas.  We were lucky enough to stay at some of the nicest hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.  The Mirage was a first rate experience from the time I walked in the front door.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Exterior&#xD;
&#xD;
The experience of this hotel begins before you ever walk into the lobby.  You are greeted by a large volcano, that every hour on the hour spews fire and lava.  It is an outstanding site as you drive up to this beautiful hotel.  The hotel itself looks like it is made of pure gold.  The landscaping you will notice right off is beautifully done and kept extremely manicured and very clean.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Hotel&#xD;
&#xD;
Upon entering the front door of The Mirage you are immediately greeted by a luscious tropical rain forest.   The palm trees are there and you are instantly put into a tropical mood.  The lobby is very large and beautifully decorated.  This of course is not the most important aspect of this hotel.  Upon stepping up to register you are greeted by a friendly smile and a warm hello, welcome to The Mirage by a front desk clerk.  We didn't even have to stand in line to check in, even though our group was fairly large they had enough staff on hand so that we were immediately waited on.  We were told our room was ready and given directions as to how to get there.  The clerk explained to us which elevator to take and took the time to give us a quick overview of the hotel.&#xD;
&#xD;
Our Room&#xD;
&#xD;
Since we had visited Las Vegas previously, I had something to compare our room to.  Let me say this, The Mirage room was extremely large even with the two beds and chair that were in our room.  The room was clean and well decorated.  There were plenty of towels in the bathroom and the a/c was on with the room at a nice temperature.  The view from our room was spectacular at night.  Since we really didn't come to Las Vegas for the room we quickly headed down to the Casino.  But believe me when I tell you, you will really enjoy your room as they are wonderful.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Casino&#xD;
&#xD;
The casino itself is very large.  There is everything from Keno(my favorite game), Craps, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker to thousands of slot machines, poker machines and keno machines.  The dealers at all of the tables my husband played at were just as friendly as the front desk clerk had been.  The casino was extremely busy but as large and open as it is you never really felt crowded.  You never had to worry about needing a drink as the wait staff was always coming by and service was great.  The tables do have a rather high buy in, with $5.00 being the absolute smallest we found.  We also noticed that the buy in price goes up at night.  I mostly stuck with playing Keno and the slot machines and left the table games to my husband.  The Keno Bar was great, once again with friendly staff who would carry on conversations with us as we waited in between games.  All in all the casino was very nice and once again was a tropical paradise.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Restaurants&#xD;
&#xD;
We really only ate in the cafe that was right off of the Casino, mostly at breakfast time.  The food was good, always served hot and we never waited very long to be seated.  Once again we found a friendly wait staff, that kept our glasses full and made sure we had everything we needed.  The Keno Runners came by frequently and were also extremely friendly.&#xD;
&#xD;
We didn't eat in any of the other restaurants, but we did have a large dinner one night in one of their banquet rooms.  Usually I am not very pleased with a large banquet type meal, but this one was a surprise.  The food was hot when it was served, we were seated quickly and each course was served in a timely manner.  The staff that worked this banquet were very efficient and friendly as well.  We were served chicken, potatoes, green beans, salad, bread and a drink.  I didn't hear one complaint about the meal or the service received by anyone with our large group.&#xD;
&#xD;
Overall&#xD;
&#xD;
The Mirage hotel and casino were first rate from the time we pulled into the driveway right up until the time we left.  We found nothing but friendly, helpful staff members.  We always felt safe as we constantly saw security guards, even at the elevators you had to show your key to be able to enter.  The swimming pool was a paradise all by itself.  The pool area had a bar, kiddie area and a large pool with lots of poolside loungers for you to relax.  Since this was a business trip my husband made the comment that their meeting rooms were extremely clean each day and well stocked with snacks and drinks for them during the day.&#xD;
&#xD;
Don't Miss This&#xD;
&#xD;
While at The Mirage be sure you go outside at night and see the beautiful volcano at its best.  The show takes place every hour on the hour and is definitely a must see.  Also be sure and see the beautiful White Tigers and the wonderful fish aquarium in the lobby entrance of the hotel.  There is so much to see and do at The MirageHotel and Casino that you would never have to leave there if you didn't want to.&#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
I promise you will find this experience First Rate and will be sorry when it is time to go home.  If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, check out this beautiful spot of paradise in the desert!&#xD;

      <description>After staying at the mirage in august of 2000 I found this hotel to be one of the cleanest and nicest hotel on the strip.Everybody that works there goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable while staying there.The pool area with hundreds of palm trees is one of the most beautiful areas in vegas.There are many bars with live entertainment to keep the atmosphere up.The rooms while not as big as some of the newer hotels were clean but on the small side.if looking for large bathrooms is for you this is not the place to stay but for all other amenities this is it.

      <title>First off, I'm going to mention that I</title>
      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443708</link>
      <description>First off, I'm going to mention that I never stay at the Mirage. I find the prices to be too high for their rooms, considering I hardly ever spend time in my room when in Vegas. So I usually end up at the Luxor where I can get a decent room for half the price. I do however, enjoy the Mirage for other amenities.&#xD;
&#xD;
First off, the Mirage is a very classy casino. They have a nice exterior that says "No Nickle Slots Here!" (they might have a few machines somewhere in the casino, but I've never seen them). Walking into the casino, you enter a wide lobby, complete with a small stream, a bridge and lots of lush, tropical type plants. This is a great place to take pictures, too, if you're into that sort of thing.&#xD;
&#xD;
The casino is to the left of the lobby. They have almost every type of slot machine imaginable. They offer many different tables for card games and other gambling opportunities. I usually stick to the slot machines, but I have tried out the roulette table here. No, I didn't win. The slots, unfortunately, aren't as loose as they are at Luxor or Excalibur, but they help pass your time. The last couple times I tried roulette, there were so many people waiting to place bets that it was hard to even get near the table. By the time I finally got close enough, I wasn't even in the mood to play it anymore. They do keep the majority of their tables open, so it wasn't crowded due to lack of dealers, but I think because the people who frequent Mirage aren't the type to place a couple of bets, lose, and walk away. These are die-hard, experienced gamblers.&#xD;
&#xD;
The casino area also has a snack area and a couple bars. The snack area is good if you just want to grab a quick bite to eat. It's located towards the side of the casino (left from the lobby, keep walking and it's on your left) They have really good chili cheese fries, and their donuts and muffins looked good too, although I didn't try them. The couple next to us was sharing a plate of buffalo wings, which also looked really good too. Prices were pretty reasonable; our chili cheese fries were only $2.50 and were enough for me and my husband.&#xD;
&#xD;
We always look forward to having Sunday brunch at the Mirage. For about $17, you can enjoy one of the best buffets I've had in Vegas, or anywhere else for that matter. They offer chilled shrimp, crab legs, some type of roast (sometimes prime rib, or roast beef or a roasted turkey). They also have an omelet bar where you can create an omelet with your choice of fillings. They also offer chinese, italian, mexican and other international cuisines. Everyone can find something to enjoy during Sunday Brunch. The wait can be long, but the staff serves complimentary champagne in the lines, so that's a nice touch. The staff inside the buffet area is always helpful, and is great at getting drink refills and clearing empty plates.&#xD;
&#xD;
I've also heard good things abot the Japanese restaurant Mikado. They serve Teppan style food (think Benihana: they cook the food in front of you). They also have sushi, if you're in the mood for that. The last time we were in Vegas, we thought we would have dinner at Mikado, but they were completely booked. We had decided only that afternoon that we wanted to eat there, so it was late notice, and we weren't surprised that they were booked. The place is packed everytime we walk by. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Mirage is also home to the famous Sigfried and Roy White Tigers. You can view them in their home, and watch them. There's no charge to see the Tigers, although the actual Sigfried and Roy show is expensive (around $60-80/ticket). I've been told that the show isn't all that great, so I've never seen it, but I always stop to see if we can see those gorgeous tigers.&#xD;
&#xD;
Mirage and Treasure Island are owned by the same parent company, so they have a tram that runs between the two hotels. This makes it easier to travel back and forth if you want to visit. Trams run every few minutes, and are a great way to move around, especially in the summertime when you don't want to be in the hot sun.&#xD;
&#xD;
Overall, I really enjoy visiting the Mirage. They offer some great service. I've been told the rooms are also nice, but as I mentioned before, I can't see myself spending $200/night for a room I'll only be in to sleep (4-5 hours at that). But if you're looking for some great food, and reasonable gambling, Mirage is a good place to go.&#xD;
&#xD;
Note: I'm rating the rooms as good because while I've heard they are nice, the prices are too high for me. So Good is the average rating on Epinion's rating scale. Room rates are also why I am giving Mirage a 4 instead of a 5 star rating.&#xD;

      <description>Review Topic:  Sights &amp; AttractionsMy husband and I ventured to Las Vegas for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful.  We wanted somewhere relatively warm (it was January).  We arrived at the Mirage without reservations and found there staff to be EXTREMELY professional and accomadating.  They put us into a penthouse suite for a fraction of the normal cost.  The room was absolutely spectacular, offering a wet bar, a living room, dining room, bedroom, huge bathroom and dressing area.  All of it was decorated perfectly.  The curtains automatically opened to reveal a breathtaking view of the strip.  The view will be in my mind for ever.  It was like nothing I had ever seen before.  &#xD;
&#xD;
Outside of our fantastic room, the Mirage had wonderful scenery, including a huge auquarium, and exotic plants growing everywhere. &#xD;
The casino struck me as "classy".  I'll admit we did not spend a lot of time gambling, but I liked it better than some of the other casinos we viewed.  The mirage also has a simulated volcano which erupts, dolphins, white tigers, and a huge swimming pool.  All of them are entertaining and spectacular. &#xD;
&#xD;
We ate at a buffet and it was fantastic.  It cost 13.00 a piece. I had been expecting the food prices to be a little cheaper(I had heard food was cheap in Vegas), but the Mirage didn't have any real cheap places to eat.  Although as I mentioned, the buffet was very good and probably worth 13.00.  &#xD;
&#xD;
We went to the infamous "Seigfreid and Roy" show.  Although it was fun to attend a show, I would not recommend it.  My husband and I paid $180.00 for the show and 2 drinks a person.  We were kind of sitting off to the side and unfortunately could see that all of the magic tricks were not "magic".  It would have been more believable if we were sitting in the middle.  The only fun part about it was seeing all of the animals.  If we went back, we would never again waste our money on this show.  &#xD;
&#xD;
The Mirage is situated among many other famous casinos such as Treasure Island and Ceaser's, so it is easy to do a lot of sightseeing in a morning.  &#xD;
&#xD;
I would recommend the mirage to honeymooner's, couple's looking for a romantic getaway, or people with kids(they would like the Tiger's, Pool, and Dolphin's).  People who love animals and plants would also enjoy the Mirage.  &#xD;
&#xD;
Finally, I would like to inform you if you do decide to stay at the Mirage, that the dress is skirts or dressy pant suits for women and slacks for men.  &#xD;
&#xD;
All in all, I will definitely be staying at the Mirage if we decide to return to Vegas

      <link>http://www.travelpost.com//hotels/The_Mirage_Hotel_Casino/r443722</link>
      <description>Review Topic:  OverviewPeople outside of Las Vegas take this city for granted. You all come here and then complain if one little thing is wrong. I was born and raised in this city, and think that native Nevadans should speak up more instead of letting tourists do all the talking.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Mirage Hotel was the first of its type to open and use such flash and style for its visitors. From the moment you see the erupting volcano on the front of the property to the gigantic tropical fish tank at the check-in desk to the white tiger exhibit to the dolphins, where else do you find such things in hotels? This was really the first Las Vegas hotel which had locals impressed, and it is still a beautiful property, even though its visionary, Steve Wynn, is no longer a part of it.&#xD;
&#xD;
I happen to think the buffet here is the best in Las Vegas. It isn't your stereotyped $2.99 dinner buffet, but the food is exceptional. The other restaurants here in the Mirage are gourmet quality, as well. When I have walked around the casino/hotel area I am always amazed at how little it feels like Vegas. Yes, the slots are still there, but it is lush and tropical inside. We Las Vegans start overlooking slot machines because we are near them so often, so I really notice the hotel aspects of this property instead of the flashing lights of the one-armed bandits. &#xD;

The location of the Mirage is great, right on the Las Vegas Strip. The pool area is beautiful. The rooms are a bit bland, but when you come to Las Vegas you are coming to play, not to sleep. &#xD;
&#xD;
The Mirage is always shown on any documentary about Las Vegas, and when you see how many choices there are to stay here in town, you'll understand why they make the Mirage a part of it. &#xD;

One last thing for tourists...if you really think you are going to come to a major Strip resort, gambling $200 or so, and you plan to go home with a fortune, forget it. We locals know better than to gamble in the big resorts. There are plenty of better-paying casinos in Las Vegas, such as The Station Casinos, Suncoast Resort, Gold Coast, and many other smaller places. Sure, there are occasional big winners at these megaresorts, but take Vegas for what it is...a playground for tourists. Enjoy your stay, and come back soon.
