The hotel is very old and very poorly taken care of. Basically it is falling apart. The air conditioner did not work at all and when you opened the window to let in some cool air all you heard was the compressor for the casino air conditioner all night long. The shower stall was full of hair and it looked like it had not been cleaned at all. There was only one large towel and when I called the front desk to ask for another so that my wife and I would each have one they acted as if they could not be bothered. I had to wait almost an hour before I got upset and went and found a cleaning lady and got one myself.

Funky! Loved it!

Loved the "oldness" of this place. If you don't like 'funky' or 'old' stay away. If you don't like loud, fun, casinos, stay away. If you like attitude and atmosphere, this is your place. Great breakfast! Comfy clean rooms, service with a good attitude! Not a five star but definately worth a visit.

Look elsewhere!

pros: Cheap room. Nice lobby and gift shop. Swimming pool.We recently stayed at the Tahoe Biltmore (for a Summer trip). The hotel looked like it had seen days of glory - especially the main hotel. We had a discount rate in the hotel rooms next to the main hotel. The paint was peeling on the stairs, the room looked old and as if it hadn't been painted in many years. The windows did not lock and the screens were falling off. There was no air conditioning and very poor lighting and good thing because the carpet looked very dirty. My son thought the floors were going to buckle since the wood seemed soft in places. If you're desparate for a cheap hotel - well - maybe. Otherwise - keep looking!

Excellent Service, I'll be back!

Great location. We were treated wonderfully after arriving a day late for our reservations. They even "comp'd" us a day!
Great for adults and kids alike with arcade and a casino. We intend to visit again soon.
Kudo's to the excellent staff.

Needs air conditioning!!!

Spent the most miserable night trying to sleep. They give you a FAN in a very small, very hot room. Casino needs payment by ticket, payouts take forever.
Saving grace is an excellent dinner restaurant and of course the location. Do not stay in the annex, you won't sleep.

Nice hotel/casino

Our stay at the Biltmore was nice. The service was great! We particularly apprecciated the hot breakfast that was included with the room. Our only complaint was that it felt like they put more money into the casino than into the rooms. When the winter winds kicked up our room was a little drafty, but otherwise it was a nice place to stay.

Great package deal

I have to say that this was a great deal. Yes it's not the fanciest (it's old) and it can be a bit loud (it's a casino), but it was well worth the money we paid. If I had gone by the reviews I had read I wouldn't have stayed here.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. It's not a first class hotel, but then again your not paying for such (I've paid more and gotten less at some of the leading hotel chains). The location to the ski slopes was fantastic. It was central to everything, including Reno, which we found very much to our liking. We also received complimentary breakfasts that were quite good, with a menu that would cater to most, and quality that was better than expected.

This hotel would be better suited for someone who doesn't mind the smoke as it seems to get into the ventilation system (noticed even in our non-smoking room), but it worked well for what we wanted. We felt safe and secure here. I would stay here again even though I'm a very NON smoker.

Not bad for the money

My wife and I stayed here over Easter weekend and had a great time. The room wasn't anything special, but it was really clean and had all the necessary amenities. The staff was really nice and accommodating and the casino floor was ample and pretty airy; not too much smoke. Definitely a good place for those that don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a hotel room. Plus you get free breakfast for each night you stay.

This place is seedy, a couple of the pit bosses are jerks and the overall gambling experience at the Biltmore is sub-par
